How about a "Floyd Landis in the Media" sticky?

Get sick and then get your health back 'dude'. Then call me in the morning and let me know how you still feel about Lance.

Not really a Floyd siting, but some morning show (I forget which now) had a snippet on how his hometown has become a PA hotspot overnight. They showed his parents' house, with all their 'tour de floyd' signs.

Thanks, must watch!
What is rather endearing to the general public in Floyd's case is his everyday approachable nice guy manner, a certain humble nature(hope he hasn't changed since winning the Tour ), which is refreshing when compared to some of the cockiness one often finds in successful athletes/persons, and later misunderstood as an essential quality for success.

I can't see how it's possible for him to have a hip replaced and be a threat to anyone next year. Any orthopods out there care to comment? How on earth can someone go through such a traumatic procedure and expect to race next year?
He'll be lucky to come back at all, let alone next year.

Landis
It's nice to have a sports hero again, after all these years. And no, I would say he doesn't have to win another race; what he did, and the way he did it, is enough.
And from what I read in "Lance Armstrong' s War," the problem with Lance is his obsessive control over the people around him, and his paranoia and vindictiveness over slights and betrayals. Floyd Landis escaped from that too, and one might hope he will not go back.

He was on Letterman last night, rode thru the audience, must say he put on a ton of weight, and was wearing a Discovery yellow jersey!

Sorry, it's been a running gag all month, he'll introduce Landis, or Hincapie, or Lance, and then this huge 300 pounder rides out across the stage with a yellow jersey and full kit, then up thru the audience, and out the door. It's always the same guy. Was trying to find to find a pic to link to, but to no avail. So no, I guess, is the answer. I'll be watching when he (Landis) shows up on Leno for real, though.

I really hope he shows up on the show on Friday, although my mom says he is staying in Europe for the next week. So who knows if he'll end up on the show on Friday. She says he is really shy and probably doesn't want all the media attention.

Maybe I'm naive but I was thoroughly impressed by Landis's performance. What made it special was to see that he was human one day and a superhero the next. Without the hip problem it's a riveting story, with it inspirational.
Re Armstrong, with his accomplishments it doesn't seem possible to be arrogant.

Ask his first wife Kik (who is gorgeous, educated, and classy) and fellow celebrity Sheryl Crow.
His son will wind up being a crackhead- so put off by Lance's perfectionism- and his daughters will be swinging on poles in gentlemen's clubs just to spite him...

So is Floyd on Leno this Friday or not?
I thought I heard Leno last night say next week, maybe next Monday, but I was only half-listening at the time.

I think the hip thing adds a twist to it, but i dont know about inspirational because he says that his hip doesnt bother him.... which makes me wonder why he is getting his hip replaced at all...
