Canned Applause on OLM

Anyone else notice that OLN is using a loop of about 24 to 30 seconds of audio to serve as ambient noise for the final stage tonight? I keep hearing the same "Aieya Aieya Alieya!!" every 24 seconds or so, and I find it disgustingly distracting.

Don't believe me? Listen to the final circuit during the rebroadcast tonight and focus on the "cheering crowd noise" for a minute or two.

I realize that it's a necessary part of production, to include some sort of sounds, but the choice made in this instance is regrettable.

OLN gets the feed from Eurosport, then adds commentary on top of it, the guy jabbering in french in the background is the announcer at the finish line, and his voice is picked up by al and bobs mics in the commentary booth.

Allez, Allez, Allez, is the most common thing you will hear during the race, not sure if its canned, but it seems the crowd noise dies down when the crowd dwindles etc...

update, yeah, it sounds like a loop, cause after the voice yells it, a couple of seconds later, its followed by some whistles, funny..

This was brought up in another thread as well, i doubt is OLN though.

Yeah, sorry about that.

It occurred to me after that fact that I might seriously affect others' enjoyment of the race by pointing that out.

Seriously-- sorry.
