On the state of posting in this subforum

Alrighty then.
I have had enough of the bickering, whinging and moaning and downright
rudeness that I've been reading in this subforum (and a few others).

let me put this as plainly as I can.
There is alot of animosity and virtriol being posted here,
nationalism being taken to extremes, and rude harrassing posts all seemingly due to
the results of the Tour and the whole Floyd Landis issue.
I have no problems with discussing the issues, however
trolling, baiting other forum members, and insulting indiviuals
will result in my inviting you to at least a one week vacation
from the forums, period.
I personally don't care which side of any arguement you land
on, if you can't be civil you will be asked to leave, plain and simple.

Marty

I won't speak for everyone else's vitriol, but mine comes from the fact that I spent 3 hours a day for 19 days watching a Fake race. So it is aimed at those proven to be fake, and those others that didn't get caught. Sufferfest, as they call it. GET A REAL JOB DOPERS!!! Join the rest of us and work for a living.

We all need to remember that there are people on the other side of these user names. It's perfectly normal to feel upset about the outcome of the race and the events following it. But don't take it out on fellow cyclists here on BikeForums.

Sounds like a personal problem to me.

I believe 'dumas' is Creole for someone who pedals with a high cadence.

I agree, we have a right to be angry. I am angry because I looked forward all year to a Lance-free tour with plenty of attacks from Vinokourov, Basso and Ullrich. It would have been a fight to the death. But instead, based upon tabloid speculation, all these riders are banned so there can be a so-called "clean" tour and I end up having to watch a tour as lacking in tactics as the Armstrong tours were, and then I have to listen to everyone try to defend Landis who has way more evidence of doping against him then V/B/U do.

What are the 5 steps of grieving: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance. I think the forum is working its way through these steps.

That's the point--my anger is directed at the way the tour turned out and not anyone on this board. Read the thread topic.

Why are you so personally invested in the outcome of the TdF? I can't get worked up about some arbitrary competition- or how somebody won it.

There was of course the legendary Tennessee border tavern keeper Dumas Walker immortalized in song by the Kentucky Headhunters.

Thank you Elizabeth Kubler-Ross.

Yeah seriously I feel that way about the F Landis doping scandal. First I was all no way Floyd woudn't do that. Then I got pissed when guys like Euro were kind of gloating about it, so there was anger. Then there was a lot of maybe the B sample will prove him innocent, maybe it was the beer. Then I was all whatever I don't care anymore. No I'm just like yeah, he did it, game over.

Once thing for sure I'm going riding tomorrow and racing Sunday, and chances are Floyd won't be doing either. So I'll count myself happy and lucky.
