Bull****.
Get over it, he cheated, PROVEN. They DID FIND SYNTHETIC testosterone, it wasn't natural, therefore HE CHEATED by taking a form of drug. Whether he did it deliberatley, or not, or whether it improved performence, or not...it is all IRRELEVENT. He knew the rules, he broke the rules. That is as simple as it gets. I'm sorry your TDF 'hero' didn't make it passed the tests, but live with it. (oh and signing that petition will do jack all) |

Floyd's masking agent was off, he didn't just start taking the testosterone prior to the stage, he had been taking it all along...

I signed it twice....Marion Jones and Tyler Hamilton :)
Whoever is behind that petition is living in the land of denial, right along with Floyd the cheater and his 50000 excuses. |

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what we say here. I'd like to think that cycling is drug-free, but it's not. Evidence suggests that Floyd doped up. If he gets off and he gets to keep the title, then I think the Tour's image would diminish. Other riders might start to think, "hey, if I dope up, and I test positive, then I could basically litigate my way to winning the Tour." Of course, the other route would be "I won't take performance enhancing drugs to keep the reputation of cycling at its high status." But if Lance wasn't convicted after being tested seemingly innumerable times, and Floyd had an 11:1 testosterone:epitestosterone count, that definitely raises suspicion. I suppose the only way to keep Floyd out of the muck is to replicate exactly what happened before, during and after the stage: drink the alcohol the night before, ride the stage in the same time he did, and see what the tests then show. But that ain't going to happen.
I know this is supposed to be a signature thread, but I think they should take his medal away and give it to the second place rider, that way many riders will likely think twice about even THINKING of taking drugs. Kind of like a tough love approach, but it's gotta be done. |
Fortunately, I don't have any life decisions to make that depend on Floyd's innocence or guilt. Does anyone in this forum? I previously said I'd wait until the B test came out, but there's an arbitration process to follow, and I'll wait to the end of that.
For people who want to follow the details of the process, I recommend the New York Times. They have generally have had the best coverage of the nitty gritty of the testing procedures and challenges. |

I dislike an unjust system more than the cheating or doping by any individual. |
Tyler Hamilton, Floyd and Marion Jones also signed it :roflmao: :roflmao:

I don't know whether he doped or not simply because the testing process lacks integrity, right now all we have is an accusation. The fact that the rider is guilty until proven innocent already has created a farce with the exclusion of Vino's teammates which led to his withdrawal only to have them cleared afer the tour. Yup, that's some kind of organization that you follow lemming-like over the abyss. |
I believe in Floyd... http://www.tvparty.com/bgifs9/floyd.jpg

Signed.
Phloyd Landis |
One more thread that provides all of the morons an opportunity to bash Floyd Landis. (Duh....I read on the internet he was guilty...duh, why does Floyd even get a hearing?...if something is on the internet, it is ALWAYS true"...so says "Joe Moron"...).
You are reading it on the internet: all of those people who are absolutely certain Floyd is guilty, PRIOR to him having a hearing in front of neutral parties, are morons. How do I know they are morons? I just read it on the internet. And, everything you read on the internet is true. |

I'd like to believe floyd is innocent, but really, what on earth will an Internet petition do?

More Americans can name the "Three Stooges" than can name three scientists. Which explains why so many morons can not tell the difference between a report an the internet, versus a lab test that has been shown to be valid.
During the O.J. Simpson case, the press reported that O.J.'s DNA had been found at the crime scene, and that the DNA of the victims' had been found on his bedroom carpet. During the trial, the cross-examination of the L.A.P.D. DNA lab tech demonstrated that the tech was unable to correctly list the majority of steps in testing DNA, could not remember exactly which steps he had carried out, and which steps he had completed. But, among the few procedures he could remember, he admitted under oath skipping some, and violating others. Among his violations was having multiple samples out on the testing table, when procedures required only one sample be on the table at a time. At the end of the cross-examination, not a single member of the jury thought there was the slightest reason to trust the lab results. But, most Americans continue to think that the DNA tests "proved" O.J. was guilty. It was in the newspaper. It must be true. |
