Updated with Mayo (announced today), Vino (didn't get around to updating it) and put a double ** by Ras just as a placeholder ('watch this space').

Yeah, wondered about putting a * besides Frank. He is suspended from CSC at the moment until things clear up from an investigation (definitely sounds fishy).

Caffeine was a banned substance until the 2004 season, when the WADA decided it wasn't that big of a deal.

Before that, caffeine consumption prior to an event was limited to a few hundred MG, which could not exceed 12 ug/mL when tested for in urine.

Before the 2002 season, caffeine was banned altogether.

Don't think Kohl was really Operacion Puerto related that I know of, but a few others have been implicated, just not confirmed yet. Contador, Schleck, and Valverde are on that list.

I have more information on the recent doping scandals in cycling on my site, linked below.

Yeah, I can't change the title of the thread now, but a few years ago it was more topical. So I edited the first page a while ago to say "These *'s are earned by either admitting to doping, being on current suspension from doping, have been suspended from doping, implicated in Operation Puerto, etc., etc."

Wouldn't it just be easier to just put * next to the ones that didn't dope?

Interesting. It looks like less and less are either getting caught or cheating...hopefully the latter. I think the OP did a fine job, thanks to BF for refining it.

Indeed, I started reading this thread and didn't even realize the date of the OP. The updating of this thread has been top-notch. It is sad but with the smaller number of asterisks for the past 2 years is a bit encouraging. As was said above....maybe there are fewer dopers or they aren't getting caught. Nonetheless this is quite eye opening.

Cheers,

Brian J

Unfortunately you are black listing a persons name for their whole carreer. It may not be accurate to assume that if they got caught in 06 that they doped in 05 or 07. i guess it is still a good list though.
