No Bianchi endorsement

I noticed no team was endorsed by Bianchi this year. Also, alot of newer brands are getting their bikes into the race. Those Cervalo bikes look pretty damn cool and fast (Cancellera was burining it up in the prologue). So why no Bianchi in Le Tour?

Cervelo has been there for a while.
Giant has been there for a while. And they're one of the largest manufacturers in the world.

Having a bike manufacturer endorse a protour team means paying the team tons of money to keep and ride their expensive bikes. A lot of manufacturers can't provide the financial resources to endorse these teams. That's why there are only so many bike manufacturers that sponsor protour teams.

Specialized

Specialized is throwing around alot of money and endorsing two teams. I've heard people say their bikes suck too, even the top-of-the line stuff. I've heard Trek is better. ?

Not really the point, but cheers for the update.

Shame.....they were beautiful, hideously over-priced frames.

Fondriest is still running a web-site. Cannondale went bankrupt as well. Bankruptcy (at least in America) allows a Company to settle with debtors or even cancel all obligations and try to re-organize in order to re-emerge profitable. Could be Fondriest is working on this.

Excellent. I'll help them out by taking 1 x 57cm off their hands at liquidation prices
