Locations for watching 08 Tour de France.
we wil be attending the tour for the first time and was looking at the Alpe d'Huez stage. Probably looking at somewhere around the col de Galibier. Do we need to arrive 1-2 days in advance, as we will be in a camper as well. Do we need to park the camper far from where we will watch the stage, or will it be close by. Any info on weather conditions, and any other info that may be useful will be greatly appreciated. We are both from Melbourne in Australia, and looking forward to seeing one of the most spectacular stages of the tour.

Living the good life
Normally the "close" the finishing mountain early (!) in the morning for any traffic -sometimes even the night before. So you have to be there early and then maybe find a place on the mountain to stay the night with the camper.
With Galibier - not the final climb - they normally close traffic about 5 hours before the riders come. Anyway, even if you have to walk some Ks it's something you'll never forget. I promise you - you will not be alone
