That was Jens Voigt (one of the unsung heroes of CSC this year, IMO), who had the oddest mechanical I've seen in this TdF: seat post sticking up, but no seat!

Actually it WAS a motorcycle. In the replay of the sprint you can see from the overhead shot that there is a motorcycle with TV camera man between the barriers, traveling parallel to the sprinters.

I find it strange that the final yellow jersey doesn't give a victory salute. I've only ever seen Roche do this in '87. I think it's very fitting to acknowledge that yu the overall winner.
