2009 TDF route. Where?

I am trying to plan a 2 week trip to France next year for mostly cycling. I want to follow the tour for a few stages while there, so I would like to know where can I find the route for each of the stages. I need detailed maps and such if they are posted somewhere.

Thanks.

They haven't announced an official route yet, soon though.

The complete but unofficial 2009 route

I have the rumoured stages (some of them are confirmed) on my site:
http://www.steephill.tv/2009/tour-de-france/

The official route announcement is Wed Oct 22nd.

i think the parcours is always announced in october. certain villes d'etape have already been revealed. the grand depart is monaco and the tour will visit girona and barcelona (probably around 7/9 considering the grand depart and it's a clockwise year) and mont ventoux (penultimate stage, 7/25, probably from the malaucene side.) best bet is to just wait until they announce the route if you don't need to plan right away.

i don't think you will need detailed maps, at least not right away. google/mapquest/whatever is probably adequate for the most part. when you know what stages you want to watch and where you want to watch them, you may or may not want to buy maps. those michelin and ign maps are not cheap (5-10 euro), and i think it is best to only buy ones for areas where you will do a lot of riding and have navigation requirements. most cols only have 1 way up from either direction and most towns can be connected by departmental routes rather than national routes. usually the bicycling is better on departmental routes than national routes, but sometimes there is no alternative. the local office de tourisme (almost every town has one) will often have a good map and information on road closures and trains and buses to connect stages.

edit: steephill's probable route looks really good. is it probable that the unconfirmed villes d'etape will actually be visted?
