I've heard a lot of bi**ing and moaning on BF about the Lance jersey tracker on the bottom of the screen during Versus coverage. The Lance tracker is a great idea. Do you people realize what Lance Armstrong does for worldwide interest in the TDF? Here, check out this google trends:
Notice how 2004/2005 has nearly double the number of queries compared to the post lance years? Its also worth noting that Versus' TDF ratings dropped over 50% in 2006, the year lance left.
Versus would be stupid not to have "Lance Tracker" when half the people are tuning in just to see him.
2007 Orbea Onix, 2007 Windsor The Hour, 2008 Kona Jake
Totally agree. Smart move by Versus financially to focus on Lance. As someone who wants to see the best rider on the road win, it does get a bit annoying to hear them talk about him 24x7. Contador is pulling away on a steep climb and all they talk about is Lance "blocking for him".
However, I'm glad Vs shows cycling and if that's what it takes to make it affordable, I thank them.
