Felt GREAT for Contador
It's about time the guy got some respect.
Seriously, Bob Roll picked 1st and picked Lance. Give me a break.
Lance was the greatest champion I've ever seen. I started watching with Indurain, so I don't have a lot of experience, but Lance was amazing. I still love watching the way he pulled away from his rivals on the "7" series. But, I'm sick and tired of hearing all about this 37 year old guy and watching him not prop up the next generation. It's like watching Favre or MJ not know when to quit. It is very clear where Vs. bread is buttered.
Great job Contador. May you win 5 more (1 less than LA).

In Bob's case, I think it's a matter of being on the record for a good friend. I'm pretty sure that, in his head he knew Contador would finish better, but sometimes being a friend wins out.
fwiw - Bob had a lot to do with encouraging Lance to return to the sport after his bout with cancer.

Slightly off topic... I used to think Bob Roll was alright, been there, done that, etc. After all his cheer leading for Lance and Levi and his massive whining this morning about the whole Hincapie/Garmin thing I have come to the conclusion the Bob is a tool. I hope he gets replaced next year, maybe with Floyd

Yes, it will be interesting to see how the humble, likeable, non-english speaking Prince goes over the next few years. Go on ya Conty.

Contador has always been respected as a cyclist. Only thing is he lacks charisma with the public, and can't speak English, which takes a lot away from his marketability. He just doesn't have that all around game to make a really huge impact, but he will win more TDFS I'm sure.

I'm sure my timeline isn't correct but AC would have come along whether LA had retired or not. It's possible LA would have won one more but AC would have started winning for another team at some point and then LA would have retired for good....which is what I think he'll do after this tour.

Contador is a great rider, but what's with the thug daddy gunshot thing as his victory salute? Another gangbanger wannabe? Kinda leaves me cold.

Geez people you need to look at the "BIG PICTURE"
Vs. is a US station, in the business of entertainment and market share. Do you
really think they're going to have the american pick someone other than Lance? Do you think
they don't know the appeal of Lance Armstrong of the general public?
