Body Armour

Do many riders wear body armour in the tdf? I stumbled across this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/PO...st/5360042693/
which seems like it would still be aero enough and add some nice protection in a fall. Super expensive though!

POC is a swedish company which as far as I knew only made products for skiing/snowboarding. I know a lot of guys that SKI race with that spine protector on. It would'nt seem to me it would do much good in your average cycling crash... broken collarbone, road rash, the usual minor crash injuries. could be aerodynamic for a TT, who knows

I'm pretty sure that's not UCI legal, but I could be mistaken.

if you mean none when you write many, then the answer is yes.

Do many riders strap extra weights to their bodies when they ride the TDF?

Nope... and body armor weighs something...
