TRS rosters rumors and truth

So far, from what I have read...

Truth
Armstrong, Leipheimer, Horner, Kloden and Zubeldia

Rumors[/U]
Brice Feillu, Cadel Evans

Getting Feillu would be brilliant...French, young, good.

Shooting self in foot if they let Lance's ego pain to get in the way of reconciling with Alberto. I don't care who their D.S. is, they aren't going to beat Contador or Andy Schleck for several years.

Kloden to Radio Shack? I don't think so. Kloden is retiring.

Cadel is wanting to join an Italian team. And Brice and his bro are staying together, like the Schleck brothers.

There is absolutely no point in teaming with Contador again. They clearly both want to be sole leader in the same race.

Clearly Lance still has it in him, so I see no purpose of teaming with AC again. A 3rd place finish at the TdF tells me that he certainly deserves to be a leader on his team.

Johann will need to get used to settling for 3rd on the podium.

I found it telling that Armstrong made no mention of Contador when giving the names of riders for TRS in that interview.

Who knows what will happen, we'll all know soon enough because as of Monday . . they may all be fired . . as VINO is in Paris as a guest of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan on Sunday to re-claim "his baby"!

I hope they can handle the transition with some class and dignity.

True. But it's one hell of a start for a team. Something that a Milram or Quick Step would probably kill for. You take the 'old folks' base that they're starting with and leven in some younger talent . . . . .

The important thing is that they're starting with strong enough, well known enough, talent to keep the advertisers bucks flowing while starting to think about the future.

Right now, Contador and Schleck are the top of the pile, and probably will be for the next 3-4 years. Which means JB isn't going to be winning any Grand Tours in the next few years. I think he'll live. After nine Tour de Frances, one Giro and Vuelta in 11 years, I think he's got the luxury of losing a few.

And who knows what he could develop, out of somebody that we're not noticing yet?

By the way, I didn't realize it was mandatory for a DS to win the Tour every year.

What about the Floydster? Or is he doomed to never ride again in the pro tour. Or would Lance be too concerned about his teams image to take on a rider who was sanctioned? Lance needs a rider who will work for him but be able to move into being a serious tour threat when Lance hanks up his bike.

I would assume Phinney would be in, if not next year then the year after.

As far a Vino, that bozo should be gone forever.

Thats what I was wondering. I wouldnt mind seeing that happening, but I heard today on the VS. coverage that he's probably going to retire after this year.

Maybe not, but I think next year it will be even closer. Lance's preparation for this tour wasn't ideal. Andy's still on the way up. With a strong team around Lance, and no ambiguity about his role, it's bound to be a closer contest. What will hurt Lance is he doesn't look quite as sharp in the TT as in the past. And, besides his age, it looks like he made the mistake of beefing up his upper body during his hiatus (to attract generation Y-ers no doubt). I saw this year's return as part of a mid-life crisis. Next year, he'll get more serious, and I doubt Contador or Schleck will be writing him off.

Hincapie has stated he is aware of the "reports" of his pending retirement. . . . in truth he says he will decide over the winter. You can bet LA wants him, but we won't know until then.

I believe Jens Viogt's contract is up this year. . .though he seems happy with Riis and Saxo. . . but hey, it's silly season.

Question, although I'd probably be able to read about it somewhere. If LA takes all of these Astana riders to TRS, what is going to happen to Astana?

And what about Popo?

I can't imagine CE and LA being able to work with each other overly well...
