Hincapie did have a broken Collar Bone

http://tour-de-france.velonews.com/a...vicle-fracture

Really admire him as a tough and the ultimate team rider whether it was broke or not. He is an icon of the sport and good role model.

i admired tyler hamilton riding with a broken collarbone too... here's to hoping georgie doesn't face the same fate (even though if he does, at least he had a good run of it... tyler really got screwed, his fault or not)

That is amazing - he climbed Ventoux with a broken collarbone? And that final sprint in Paris?

That just seems hard to believe anyone could do that.

what's that supposed to mean? they both broke collar bones and finished the race....that's where the similarities end.

i will be surprised if hincapie comes back next year but that will be because he chooses not to..... not because he's banned for life like TH.

Professional athletes are cut from a different cloth. It happens across all professional sports, but it is amazing everytime it happens.

That's damned impressive. He really broke the Garmin attempt in Paris and led the way for Renshaw to lead the Cavendish train.

GH is a great rider, and to do what he did with a broken collar bone...yikes. I rode with a broken collarbone for 3 months, but the first week was pain city. I would really like to know how he did it, maybe carbon fiber duct tape to hold his shoulder in place....I hope he a gets a ride with TRS for next year.

tyler busted his collar bone and i rooted hard for him and gave him much cred. then he got busted for doping. george busted his collar bone and i rooted hard for him too. i don't mean to imply that george is going to get in the same repeated **** as tyler, but that one instance (tyler) hurt my feelings! it was the same thing with landis... i just hate seeing "heroic" rides tarnished by doping scandals, that's all.
