Lance Armstrong has no class

I'd like to know why there hasn't been any criticism of Armstrong's childish, unsportsmanlike behaviour with Contador...

1) Johan made a huge mistake by not naming Contador the undisputed team leader. And, he could have made this a stipulation of Armstrong coming back to race for him. As a result, we have these intra-team antics going on.

2) Lance Armstrong could have been man enough to realize that Contador is easily stronger than him. He could have decided to check his ego, for once in his life, and actually ride for another member of his team. 90% of the peloton rides in the service of others. Yes, he did not attack or follow Contador (probably because he would have been even more embarrassed that the young Spaniard can put him in his place). The point is that all of this could have been avoided.

3) Finally, Armstrong "missed" the team party for Contador. Are you kidding me? It'd be nice for him to realize that his time is over and be respectful, decent about it.

As far as I'm concerned Armstrong is spoiled and arrogant. Hopefully, he's finally gotten a reality check. Cycling doesn't revolve around you buddy.

Peace.

If you looked at the Professional Cycling forum, where I am moving this to, you'd see plenty of Lance hating.

I thought he did exactly what a support rider should, he stayed back and fought off attacks while Alberto could concentrate on the Schleks. As for the celebration kinda selfish but Lance always does what's good for Lance so no big surprise.

Are you 13 and a Cheerleader or what....Contador is just as big a Jerk as lance ever thought of being. In this crowd there are some mighty big egos, by the way did you listen to any and i mean any of the other interviews with the rest of the team...no body likes Contador!!!!!!

He has won 7 TDF. He should be arrogant. He brings attention, and money to the sport. In this country and a lot of the world cycling, at least in pro cycling, does revolve around him.

If he shows up and says he wants to ride in the TDF, he is team leader.

teams astana made a million bucks in large part by contador winning the tour. no one else on the team would have won that race....and now you are telling me that no body on the team likes contador?

the guys on astana who are speaking against contador are on lance's payroll. what in the hell do expect them to say ?

Actually the hate for Lance that is generated by a select few around here couldn't be contained in just one thread. There really need to be several so that the venomous parties can jump from one to the other spreading their hate wide but thin.

This forum has too much hate (both AC & LA) going on in it. Anyone not familiar with cycling will think there is nothing to the sport but this. Giving cycling a bad rep.

Many of these sad threads got their start in Road Cycling, and then got dumped here. Just don't post, and they will drop off the map. It's not so much that the topic doesn't merit discussion, but the level of discourse does tend to get mired.

Indurain should be arrogant too, but I haven't seen him hijack a team recently.

The whole "he brings more attention to the sport" argument is so tired. Whatever extra light is shined on the sport from him being there never spills over to others. He's a black hole. Lance and Contador rolled their eyes at each other and it got more press than what Cavendish pulled off.

It's not any worse than, say a forum for an NFL team. The people that post on topics simialar to this have abot the same level of knowledge as they do about pro cycling.

Take heart...soon they will be gone for another year. It just takes a little while for the flushing to stop. The person that started the thread, 62 posts since 2005....as an example.

I'm with Ed Rader on this one. Where were all these cries for censorship when people were making fun of Armstrong's enemies? And anyway, does it really matter? Don't get me wrong. Armstrong is a great rider, but there are people all around him, former teammates, friends, team personnel, etc. who have all come forth and have said what a backstabbing, deceitful guy that he is. The haters are acting like the orginal poster is making this all up.
