This recent tweet from Lance:

Gotta love the Spanish press. I understand their enthusiasm but does it really have to change reality?? C'mon, fellas. We aren't stupid.

Yeah, it just goes to show you how paranoid Armstrong is. He's gonna point fingers at everyone and makes the excuse that everyone is out to get him. The French. The Spanish. Everyone. In the end though, he's just a liar.

Well, the Spanish were out out to get him, whether right or wrong. Let the race do the talking now, please.

No they weren't. A lot of media is beginning to understand what a paranoid, delusional, liar Armstrong is. Fox Sports in the USA also. Are they out to get him as well? What about the French too? How about the Brits? Walsh, Ballester, etc? Are they all out to get him? What about all the former riders, team employees, docs, etc. Are all of these people out to get him? I don't think so. The excuses are long, but the one common denominator exists. Armstrong himself.

Does bellweatherman or anyone else actually know what Spanish report LA was replying about on twitter today? Lets throw some real logs on this fire.

Lance is in the Bahammas, I don't think he's worried about it, and neither should we.

Is that the best response that LA could come with about what was printed in the Spanish papers? If LA was truly an innocent party in the incidents that were described in the papers, he would not be so defensive. In my experience such defensiveness and trying to deflect blame onto others, in this case the Spanish press, is a sign of guilt. It would be interesting to hear LA's version of events such as why AC had to get a ride with his brother to the start of the ITT in Annency or the water bottle incident on Ventoux. I'd like to know his version of "reality." LA would be more credible if he had said that he made an innocent mistake and thought that Gutierrez was handing him the water bottle or that AC overslept and therefore missed out on getting a team car to bring him to the start of the ITT.

Lance has about 1,000 things better to do than explain how the media works to people who hate as a career.

Any intelligent person knows that the media sensationalizes things in order to garner ratings (TV) or sell newspapers or magazines. Most of us also know that there is a lot of bias in the media. As I said before, it would give some balance to the coverage if LA explained his version of events instead of using his Twitter account. As we all know, there are two (and often more) sides to every story. Let's hear the other side. That way we can analyze both sides and figure out where the truth lies. LA's defensiveness only serves to make people think that he really is guilty of doing all those things to AC.

And Twitter is a more credible source?!?! Geez. You Armstrong fanatics can't handle the truth. Armstrong is paranoid. First, the French are out to get him. Then, it's the Spanish. Next who? The American media? They already are beginning to understand what a total cheat he is. Fox Sports. ESPN. SI. Armstrong will keep making excuses. Get him out of the sport. He doesn't belong in the Hall of Champions.

I heard that while congratulating Contador on a great stage the day before, LA got Levi to kneel down behind Contador's knees, and then LA pushed Contador, and he totally fell on his ass. Everyone laughed and then gossiped about it on MySpace later. Contador made a sad post in his livejournal.

oh gawd...it doesn't matter what anyone says the LA lovers will be lovers and the haters will be haters. When Lance didnt respond it was because of guilt and when he does its because of guilt. Nothing will ever change those minds so just drop it already.

You keep touching on the paranoid nature of Armstrong but as I've read those rants you call posts over the past month, I'm wondering if your not the paranoid one? I can understand not being a fan as he can be a bit brash in his dealings with the press but really are the press any better? My guess is you probably at one time showed up to the Tuesday Nighter feeling all good, legs were strong and all and Lance showed up and stole your thunder. It's got to be that because you most likely don't know the man in a personal enough level to form such strong opinions. Of course if your opinions of his character et all is based off the media then you just might be a sheep.

You took that tweet as defensive? Jeez, you're putting that much validity into an article that was written from a singular source one which in fact is hardly biased in the matter. Really?

Seems it was and they did, not only the GC but Team placing as well. You have to remember that by the time the tour began it was probably already concluded within the team that; a)There would be a new sponsor next year and they needed to impress that potential sponsor b) Alberto wouldn't be joining them in 2010 and so, other team results were nearly as important as the GC c) Alberto couldn't be counted on to act in the best interests of the "team" unless those aligned with his own and he didn't.

I thought relinquishing one's grasp on reality was a prerequisit to entry into the Professional Cycling forum? But, seriously, I'm curious, in what areas do you think I don't have a grasp on reality? I'm just not blinded by either love or hate for LA, nor have faith that what is reported in the media is anywhere near half the story nor accurate. Oh well.

Did you have a question or a comment specifically about the topic? Because I don't find your personal attack very pleasant. Another thing, from here on out you can use direct quotes if you want to attribute an idea or comment that I've put forth. I did not take Armstrong's twitter response as a "defensive" gesture as you claim. My comment is that it reflects on his own narcissistic and vindictive nature. "Defensive"? That's your word not mine. Perhaps, it is you who needs to step back.

I still concur with the others that Armstrong's propensity to win by cheating is high. He IS paranoid. Everyone is out to get him. French. Spanish. The article written in the Spanish paper is not a piece that is of a writer's opinion. It is a report. Those were Contador's words, not some media journalist giving an account of what happened before the final time trial. This was Alberto, himself, describing what had happened.

this is hilarious, and pathetic, all at the same time. i never thought bicycling would have such soap opera drama.

i feel sorry for all of the lance-haters, especially the ones from america... maybe they should go on an "apology tour" all around the world like someone else i know is doing, that way they can apologize to cyclists and fans from all other countries for lance's "behavior", heck, they could even find some joy in maybe apologizing for lance "cheating" to win 7 tdf's *rolls eyes*. whatever! if you are american, take some pride in the achievements of our athletes, for cryin out loud. it'll be a long long time before there is anyone who comes along to have the impact on cycling that lance armstrong has had... and mark my words, contador will not come close.

Lance Lovers or Haters think of 1 fact that you both will not dispute that happened that day.
Think!

Lance announced HIS NEW TEAM. All of the staff and riders are not Astana any more.
Not that AC has won the Tour. That would give everyone a reason to dis AC. Next year's contact
