Thought that was interesting. Then I wondered, Why do handlebars break during a race? Are these guys breaking their handlebars because they're pulling so hard on them while sprinting? Or is it because the handlebars are made with really lite materials?

Hope it's not a stupid question.

handlebars shouldn't break... flex but not break - most likely the thing was either already damaged or defective... then broke under the stress of him pulling on them...
