Men's TT - Cancellara
Men's road - Boassen Hagen

As if we didn't know who the best TT rider in the world was. The guy is just amazing. Nice ride by Zirbel.

hopsing08 09-24-09 11:27 AM

Cancellara is a stud. period.

USAZorro 09-24-09 12:01 PM

Not much of a challenge predicting that.

The style in which he won still was hugely impressive though.

Zorro,
Definitely agree with Cancellara but for men's road, I'll go with Sammy Sanchez.

Yes, Spartacus is a done deal. I'll be off in the woods this weekend when the road race goes down. Will have to catch up with it afterward.

Cancellara is brilliant!

xfimpg 09-24-09 08:06 PM

I'm going with Ryder Hesjedal (fellow Canadian) for the road race. :thumb:

Armstrong is gonna clean up.

No, no. The other one.

She is an amazing athlete. Too bad she's retiring after worlds.

fabio 09-25-09 08:07 AM

fabian made it look easy. Did they say the road race has 15000ft of elevation gain? Holy

Hey! These are supposed the be the Cycling World Championships, not the Mountaineering World Championships. :twitchy:

Anyone got a link to see it?

having spent a week oblivious with nose to the grindstone (work, not riding).

Looks like about 200m climbing per lap, 19 laps; that would be about 12,500 ft.

daxr 09-26-09 01:10 PM

Thanks - just watched the recap of the time trials, pretty amazing ride by Cancellara.

OrionKhan 09-27-09 12:27 AM

I was hoping K. Armstrong would have pulled the double gold. But she just finished off the podium. Pretty good ride for her in the road race. Thought she had a shot catch the leader after the way she looked in the TT, but she didn't have it in her legs today.

squidroadie 09-27-09 07:24 AM

I think Ballan might be able to pull off a repeat.

rogwilco 09-27-09 08:59 AM

If Cancellara pulls this off I'd be super impressed, what a feat that would be...

xfimpg 09-27-09 09:03 AM

Man, did Boonen look cooked back there or what...

tigershark 09-27-09 09:14 AM

where can i find this? is this on tv? i found a site that has it but the quality is bad, is it on any other sites?

rogwilco 09-27-09 09:19 AM

I'm watching on Eurosport. ;)

But you better hurry up, it'll be over very soon (like 10 minutes maybe)

xfimpg 09-27-09 09:21 AM

Bloody Valverde isn't pulling... that bloodsucker, I hope he loses.

rogwilco 09-27-09 09:23 AM

looks like Valverde is speculating, rather giving Rodriguez a medal than pulling up Cancellara...
