Will someone please tell my boy that having his socks pulled up to mid-calf or higher when he's receiving a reward just ain't cool? (Stage 16 or 17) He's changing into those BMX-type shoes too. Keep the clipless shoes and put on some ankle socks. It may be less comfortable, but sure looks more "professional"

Man I can't wait to get out of my shoes after a 20 mile ride, and I like my shoes. I can't begin to imagine walking around in clipless shoes after riding 128 miles.

If it were me, I'd storm the podium in big ol' bunny slippers after a ride like that. Of course, if I ever podium after a stage featuring hors category climbs, then they'll have to wheel me up to it on a gurney and just dump my remains.

He's always worn those "comfortable" shoes on the podium and he can walk in them too.
I too think his socks are a little long/high but he's always done that too. It's just a Lance thing.

The socks are simply an early step toward old age. Picture him in a Hawaiian shirt, bermuda shorts, the black socks, and sandals.

Shorts have got to be hiked up to just below his chest for the full "Daddy High Pockets" effect.

sock height is a trend started by the Italians a few years back...now it seems everyone is gunning for the longest socks.

Guess you can fit a bigger sponsor on a bigger sock.....

The length of Lance's socks pale in comparison to John Howard, former USCF multi-time road champ, Pan-American games medal winner and one time holder (not sure if still is) of the world's land speed record on a bike.

Towards the end of his competitive racing days in an effort to get more speed, he wore pantyhose, claiming that they enhanced leg circulation and therefore performance on the bike. Thankfully for all cyclists, there was no truth to this...

maybe it's in his contract... You gotta have 'um pulled up that high so we can all see the full size Nike swoosh On the podium I'm surprised he didn't have on black high tops with a hugh yellow Nike swoosh... that would only cost you $199.99 at your local Nike dealer
