From day one in this case, as in every potential case, the USADA Board of Directors and professional staff did the job we are mandated to do for clean athletes and the integrity of sport. We focused solely on finding the truth without being influenced by celebrity or non-celebrity, threats, personal attacks or political pressure because that is what clean athletes deserve and demand.”
They don't need to know what I think. They did their job with honour and integrity, and that's all anyone can expect from anyone.

I think the sad thing is all the people who have been betrayed, and who feel betrayed...because they believed him, because they believed in him, because they thought he was something he wasn't. It kind of reminds me of the Jerry Sandusky thing in a lot of ways. It was a code of silence because he had this great team, with great results, and everyone thought he was this big hero and great guy. They all feel betrayed. They gave money to his charities etc. And then he keeps denying it and blames everyone else, even though there were witnesses and victims and people who saw what he was doing. Totally different crimes of course! but the point is these things happen when everyone keeps quiet and shuts their mouth etc....

+1. By most accounts he seems to be a massive ******. There don't seem to be a lot of guys that have much good to say about him.

And sometimes, if you have been nice to people along the way, and things like this happen, then you can draw on that "reservoir of goodwill". It seems to me that LA has been really nasty to people all his cycling life. He even went out of his way to involve people's significant others/family members in his ugliness. Otherwise, how do you explain stuff like texting Levi's wife to "run and not walk"? This guy was a monster.

Personally, I can forgive his doping, lying etc, but where I draw the line is his ugliness in trying to destroy people's lives, even when he knew they were being truthful. That takes the cake for me.

How does one test to see if a rug is doping or not?

Do you think that he was part of the "most sophisticated doping cheat of all time"? OR do you believe he is innocent? I think he is innocent. There were hundreds of tests put up to him from various agencies and none of them actually found any REAL physical evidence that he doped. I think it is complete bull **** that he was on a 15 year investigation and there were no laws that kicked in from it. 15 YEARS!!! could you imagine that hell for 15 years?? I am really pissed off that it was allowed to go on that long with absolutely no evidence, other than the fact that he was dedicated human being, following his dreams. He has also done so much for cancer research, all he wanted was to help people. I feel really bad for him. As an unbiased fan, i am siding with him and do i believe he is innocent. What do you all think?
You need to take off your rose colored sunglasses, get and read a copy of USADA's Reasoned Decision from http://velonews.competitor.com/files...d-Decision.pdf, and welcome to the real world.

And in reply to your final question, I think you are in complete denial.

Just leave the winners names blank with the appropriate footnotes. An appropriate tribute.

All it does is give the advantage to the people with better connections. Think of all the other cyclists, in this case, who lost out because they didn't want to get caught, knowing that they didn't have the resources to pull it off as well as the elite? It's time to stop giving the gold to the guys with the best connections. M.
"Sports" exist for a reason. This is not it. The path that you are suggesting will ultimately lead to artificial arms and legs and what not. Do you want sports to go there? Will it be fun then? Simply put, will you feel good about yourself after beating your own personal record after taking a performance enhancing drug?

Dear USADA:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for exposing this massive fraud and soulless, selfish, vindictive common opportunist.

Prior to USADA's report, I was saying "USADA sucks". I've done a 180 since.

The fallout will be far reaching ... and it's just begun.

The report on the findings- as published in the New Times and L.A. Times and other major newspapers leave no doubt- WIDESPREAD, long time and frequent illegal substances and practiuces AT THE U.S. POSTAL TEAM level- all kinds of people involved and ready to testify.

So REMEMBER TO USE YOUR FULL ZIPCODE!

And I'm gay....
