Lance's Oakley Jawbones

I believe he was wearing a pair when he crashed at the TOC but in the Tour de Suisse he was using a pair of glasses without side/bottom frames. Were the jawbones responsible for the cuts around his left eye from the crash...or would it have been worse with a different pair of glasses?

He was wearing Radars with clear lenses in the ToC when he crashed--I should know since I crashed and got cut on the same eye, in the same manner, wearing the same glasses, a week before him.
