looks like a long, potentially scorching, day off for the contenders. perfect day for someone 8+minutes back to make up some time.

Looks like the type of day where the KoM contenders will do everything they can to be part of the break in order to swoop up the easy 3 and 4 category points.

I would think this will be a big day for the polka dot leader to try and keep Pineau away from a lot of points.

So lance is 21 back from AS and about 16 minutes out of top ten. Any chance the field lets him slip away in a break? I could see him trying to grab this stage if so.

This is my first year with HD and I gotta give top kudos to the guys with the cameras. The helicopter shots are even more amazing this year.

I guess I just wonder if winning a stage because the field no longer sees you as a threat would mean much to a rider of Armstrong's stature.

Funny, how all of those jokers who have been predicting all of the backstabbing and discontent from Vino are absent this morning.
Great ride by Vino. Sure he's got some bravado about him. Win or lose, dude rides with gusto.

Can somebody tell me how many times the rider wearing the red number has won the stage. To put so much effort into yesterdays ride and come up just seconds short and then to follow that effort with a gutsy ride off the front in the closing km's. friken AWESOME!!!!
Cav made that spint look pretty easy even without Renshaw.

Some people wonder why Vino has so many fans. Its because of days like yesterday and today. He rides his ass off. All of this talk about him disrupting Astana has been proven to be crap. He's been an asset for the team.
Funny how all of the Cav detractors have disappeared. Apparently its more than just about the leadout. Dude is fast.

Anywho. Congrats to Vino, he deserves it. He left them in his dust. He just may take it all one day.
fyi, we don't hate AC or Astana (it is nearly a completely different team since most bailed to Radio Shack). He may get our support yet. Until then, no need to get nasty.

WTG Vino, but i had petacchi picked as winner...LOL! however, bravo! I wasn't far off though, Petacchi was close and now is in the green jersey. I hope he wins another stage, my guess is he'll want to win the last stage in Paris.

Something about Vino's face when he is hammering at the front makes me pull for him. His pain face just keeps me at the edge of my seat begging him to hold on just a little longer.

Vino certainly got an icy reception when he came back from the suspension, but he's reminding us why we liked him in the first place. Attack, attack, attack. Blow up, then attack again. He does some crazy stuff sometimes, which is part of what makes him so entertaining to watch. You never know what to expect from the guy, but you can bet it won't be boring.

don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but when i've been watching vino this tour, i can't help but shake the feeling that he's still doping. do people think he's clean now or just doping better (non detectible)?

i was so happy for cav. that was such a huge blow to lose renshaw. say what you want about cav (whom i happen to like, just thinks he's young and arrogant and needs to grow up a bit but has a huge heart), that guy can sprint like no other.
