He's 47th @ 3:30 back, which isn't terrible, but Liquigas has had zero presence to date. Possibly Basso is hoping for some really good days in the Alps to make time ?.

He looked great at the end of the Giro, especially in the mountains, putting the hurt to Evans, but possibly won't look as good against some serious talent such as Schleck and Contador.
