Why no Nibali in the Tour?

Does anyone know why Vincenzo Nibali was left off the Liquigas roster for the Tour? Is he injured?

Maybe not recovered from the Giro. Maybe they wanted to give some others a chance? I dunno, can only speculate.

No point racing the TdF. He has bigger fish to fry (i.e. overall Vuelta and WCS).

Never heard about Pellizotti, but thanks. I just realized they had quite a bunch of stars on that team...could have been powerful in the Tour.

Yeah, Nibali was put onto the Giro roster after Pellizotti was pulled. It was like a week or so before the start of the Giro. I think Liquigas was planning on having Nibali ride the Tour but Pellizotti goofed it up for them. Especially with Basso riding both the Giro and TdF. Sounds like Nibali will be a strong contender for the Vuelta and WC.
