DId Versus screw up & show final results of stage 8 @ 12:00 EST show - Spoiler

Wanted to see Stage 8 & it appears they were showing post race stage 8 interview wih Lance. Did not appear to be good. Switched off channel.

After 5 minutes we appear to be good.

Is VERSUS doing this on every stage, showing end of stage @ beginning of stage. Usually miss first 20 minutes are so of each stage.

The race just ended like 30 minutes ago. The live feed probably just ran into the time slot that your DVR said the reply was supposed to start.

Live coverage went over time, so you saw the end of the coverage for the Live. It went straight into the coverage for the 12 showing right after they were done with the interview. Usually they have had a 30 minute show in between showings so this wouldn't happen, but it seems the Live shows have been running about 30 minutes long and skipping that show completely.

Crap I caught Lance interview about 10 secs - it did not sound good. So I assume Lance did not do well which ruins viewing this show.

Versus screwed up. Guess I will start viewing it about 15 -20 minutes late each day to avoid this challenge. They are screwing themselves spoiling show by showing results @ the beginning. If you know what happens at the beggining then a lot of people will not watcth the program.

I am not happy with VERSUS & definitely will not pay $30 fee to get this type of service.

So are you saying that versus shouldn't do post-race interviews, not show them to the live audience, don't show afternoon replays, or just force the riders to go faster?

Ok, let's try this again: They weren't showing the results at the beginning! You should have watched or recorded the live broadcast. Instead, you tried to watch a replay but as the live race ran long today, they were still showing the live broadcast when you turned on your TV hoping to watch the replay. Just record the live one, with one hour extra time added on just in case, and then you can watch it whenever you want.

Well I disagree. Every sporting event I have watched does not have this challenge during replay. Apparently this is situation for VERSUS Tour De France Coverage. I stand by what I said before, if they do this on replays then what kind of service can I espcet by paying $30 fee. Lastly, if this is normal then schedule 30 minutes more on original program. How hard it that? Not everyone can record - visiting friends without recording capability.

Here is the problem, I do not have capability to record & watching @ home of perso who can not record. Maybe I should. Just assumed first show would not run over by 40 minutes.

As I stated prior to this I will watch show 15-20 minutes late. Will post comment on VERSUS site also.

Thanks again. I am just frustrated, not as much as Lance after today, with TV coverage overlap.

Yes because clearly there is no reason to watch if you know what happened with Lance. There is nobody else in the race...

Here's an idea. If you have a real problem with Versus coverage, go retro and don't watch at all. Return to the golden days of yester-year, pre-versus, when coverage of the tour was a 1 hr special on a Sunday with lots of John Tesh music. Jeez, talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. You're the kind of person who would complain about the taxes if someone gave them a million dollars.

The OP is in dire need of Tivo (or equivalent).

How can you even watch the Tdf if you can't fast forward through the endless (and repetitive) commercials?

Not just the commercials, but sometimes even the racing is kinda boring. Thank God for DVR's. It takes me about 45 minutes to watch 3 hours of coverage. I watch the attacks, the sprints, the crashes...otherwise, watching 188 men riding bikes for 5 hours is not exactly great fun.

I think he's talking about the Tour Tracker - where you can watch any stage that's done pretty much whenever you want. Kind of like renting a DVR for a month, and getting some other stuff on the internet thrown in. If I didn't have vs, that's probably what I'd do.
The search for inner peace continues...

"I just googled triple crank set and i see what your saying. this bike has 9 of those "cranksets".
"They are showing [the TDF of Versus] at 5 different times in the day. It doesn't say which one is the live one."
