Armsrong's First Thoughts after his "Final" Tour De France

Reported in The Los Angeles Times Monday morning after finishing 23rd... Drug Free.

Quote of the Day: "I need a Cold Beer" - Lance Armstrong, when asked what was his first thought after crossing the finish line.

All the World listening and this is the statement he chose? I expected a little more but then he was probably asked that question by a hundred reporters. I suppose the person(s) at the L.A. Times thought it was cute or something...

Wasn't a guy named Le Mond the last American TDF winner to be sponsored by Big Liquor?
Maybe this was the reference Lance was making as a jab at Greg for sponsoring a beer company when he won it last... since they're such good buddies and all...

Are we to infer that Michelob Ultra is a non-alcoholic beer?

or maybe he did indeed want a cold beer. I don't see what the big issue is.

Anybody else find it hilarious that they are advertising a low calorie beer to cyclists? For me, the more calories the better!

I find that humorous too, everytime they show the ad with low calories low carbs, I remind myself to NOT get that!

If Lance manages to reverse the foolishness and bring back the Pernod Super Prestige trophy (with the backing to make it something riders work to win) I say more power to him.

Wow, I would like to congratulate you for having an opinion that ZERO people agree with. Nobody else cares. You're the only one who *expected* a kumba-yatic bowl of sap as a response to a simple, meaningless question.

Please PM me your home address so I can come over and slap you upside the head.

I think you misheard. He clearly said "I need two Albanian hookers, a hammock and a bottle of schnapps."

Beer or chocolate milk are the perfect recovery drinks!

I love both after a ride.

I read that chocolate milk provides the perfect mix of carbs and protein needed for recovery after exertion.

Reduced alcohol content (no more than 4.2%) per serving - which means you end up drinking more of it to catch a "buzz". Smart marketing.
