"I hope somebody breaks a baseball bat over your head"

Article: "Abusive voicemails left for Betsy Andreu by Lance Armstrong pal become evidence in federal probe"

Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/mo...#ixzz107J3Rh28

"The messages were from Stephanie McIlvain, a close friend of Armstrong's who worked for one of his sponsors, the Oakley eyewear company.

Abusive and histrionic, the tapes have recently become evidence in the expanding federal probe into possible doping conspiracies on Armstrong's cycling teams.

"I hope somebody breaks a baseball bat over your head," McIlvain tells Andreu in the first message. "I also hope that one day you have adversity in your life, and you have some type of tragedy that will…definitely make an impact on you."

The harassment by Oakley rep, Stephanie McIlvain, demonstrates the real vicious and threatening nature of her and her associates. This is a woman who has lied numerous times and possibly even in judicial proceedings and now her threats are putting her and Lance Armstrong in a very bad spot. The investigation that will almost certainly look at any federal criminal activity.

Abusive Voicemails?

I know they both are somewhat hard to hear but I counted one abusive and one apologetic voicemail.

Unless Oakley is broadening their product line and getting in to baseball bats.

Based on the transcripts of those messages, it sounds like she has a lot of issues.

McIlvain is an admitted drunk. Listen to the 2nd voicemail in the link. How many lies is she going to tell? She cannot possibly claim innocence. She says one thing to Andreu and a completely different version to the courts in the SCA case. Can't have it both ways. I wonder who's paying her attorney bills.

Its pathetic that McIlvain even used her son's autism as an excuse by which she lied about Armstrong's alleged EPO use. That's really unfitting of a decent human being and mother. If she gets the can, so be it. I won't be disappointed if and when she serves a longer prison term than Marion Jones. At least Marion showed remorse. This backstabbing liar has none.

Sorry Greg's fanboy, time to climb down off the soapbox. Your marginal rants are getting rather redundant. Are you a 14 year old with a cellphone and lots of time on your hands. Get a life...........

Could we just all hold our horses until things become clearer?

Also, being civil is a mark of maturity, I posit.

I think LA doped, but I am willing to wait until Novitzky offers proof of same or announces that he has no case. In the meantime, there is no need for verbal/written attack on anybody, McIlvain included.

When do you think he doped? Could it be possible that he doped up to his cancer, as some evidence seems to suggest, but that he didn't after it, since no evidence has bee provided for that?

Armstrong obviously used drugs and EPO during his cancer treatment, as anyone in that position would be expected to. That isn't even a question. However, his His EPO drug use after cancer treatment when he was working with Dr. Michele Ferrari is also documented. So, to blindly assume otherwise is pure ignorance.
