Your thoughts on the US Team Selection for Worlds:

Tyler Farrar (Wenatchee, Wash./Garmin-Transitions) road race
David Zabriskie (Salt Lake City, Utah/Garmin-Transitions) road race and time trial
Jason McCartney (Coralville, Iowa/RadioShack) road race
Christian Vande Velde (Lemont, Ill./Garmin-Transitions) road race
Danny Pate (Colorado Springs, Colo./Garmin-Transitions) road race
Tejay Van Garderen (Fort Collins, Colo./Columbia-HTC) road race and time trial
Craig Lewis (Greenville, S.C./Columbia-HTC) road race
Ted King (Brentwood, N.H./Cervelo Test Team) road race
Tom Peterson (Mercer Island, Wash./Garmin-Transitions) road race

Farrar impressed me on stage 19, when he finished 2nd to Gilbert on the "Bumpy" road to Toledo. That final uphill sapped the energy out of most of the pure sprinters and Farrar managed to hang on. If Gilbert is expected to be a big favorite due to the Worlds course profile, I would expect Farrar to be right up there with him.

Im super psyched that local NH boy Ted King got selected. Had the pleasure of watching him and his older brother race in a local crit back in July. After his crash at Nationals (A rogue feedbag took out his handlebars I hear) I'm sure he's looking to reestablish himself and get noticed (I believe he's still without contract after the news that Cervelo is going under.) Expect him to be domestique extraordinaire.

Sounds like a good lineup. Seems heavy on Garmin riders, but guess that's what happens when a good percentage of the team is American.

It does seem heavy Garmin, but seems to be well selected in general. I wonder if it is an advantage to have a number of guys from the same team that will be back on that team next year race worlds together? Seems like it could help because you know you will benefit from having the world champ on your squad.

As an outsider one thing struck me.

No Tom Danielson despite his good performance in the Vuelta. Am I missing something?

Seems like its a good selection. Nothing stand out either way, I would have built a similar line up.

Good choice, I would definitely put him in over CVV

If you figuring on wanting it going to a group sprint, CVV was doing a great job in the vuelta dishing out the pain and bring the breakaway back. Not sure that is in the US best interest but it might be what they are figuring. I know Danielson could drill back the breaks too but CVV showed he could and was willing.

Heavy on Garmin to support Farrar I would guess. I don't know if the course suits Farrar, but with all eyes on Gilbert I expect to see someone win solo from a small break.

Of the pure sprinters Farrar has a better chance, but its still too rough of a course for him. But with the options available to US Cycling, he has to be considered America's favorite. Thus a team built more for him.
