I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't you you pesky kids.

So what if hincapie is coming clean. He gets no more credibility points than Hamilton or Landis. Hincapie has always denied doping. Now, he flips his story and says that Armstrong supplied himself and others with EPO and testosterone?
Hincapie's career is about up. He is just seeking money like the other accusers. He is bitter and washed up.
I have a world of respect for Hincapie and appreciate his honesty. Anyone not burying their head in the sand knows the doping abuse in the sport and its good to see people coming forward so we can all move onward
Yeah, I don't really see what George had to gain personally by this thing. He's the first truly credible witness who's come forward on this. I think it just proves the pressure that a federal investigation has on people in their personal decisions. I think most riders realized quickly that it was no joke and had to come clean, or else. With that much pressure, some were going to come clean, and those who didn't (and lied to the court) were bound to find themselves in a tight spot.
I've cheered my fair share for Lance through the years, but it's time for him to suck it up and be honest with us. It would be shameful for him to continue fighting when it's pretty obvious that it's over for him. Some fell gracefully, and others not so gracefully. George may have been dishonest for a long time but coming clean like this is leagues more classy than Lance's arrogant dishonesty. Still curious to see what this will mean for the remaining ex-US Postal guys who have yet to be caught for their almost certain involvement during those years as well.
All in all, I still think it's going to be good for the sport, and am somberly happy to see it finally going down like this. I think this is especially true after the Contador thing is being handled so strangely.
I'd have thought if he wanted fame and fortune out of coming clean he'd have gotten in on the 60 minutes action, which he declined.
If you want to continue to be a believer, that's your choice. But there is going to be more coming out of this, and at some point I've no doubt your faith will be shaken. For the rest of us it's pretty much already game set, match and introducing Lance to his new cell mate Marion.
I was all prepared to say eff you Lance, but Hincappie is denying he said anything to CBS news and that he doesn't know where they are getting their infomation.
TBD ... For now.
Later, Hincapie released a statement through his attorney: “I can confirm to you that I never spoke with `60 Minutes.’ I have no idea where they got their information. As I’ve said in the past, I continue to be disappointed that people are talking about the past in cycling instead of the future. As for the substance of anything in the `60 Minutes’ story, I cannot comment on anything relating to the ongoing investigation.”
wow, this just keeps getting stranger
So "60 Minutes" has a source *other* than Hincapie himself, revealing what he said to the grand jury.
Not terribly out of the ordinary.
Hincapie never spoke to 60 minutes? Duh! 60 minutes never claimed that he ever did to begin with. Sources close to Hincapie spoke to 60 minutes. What is telling is that Hincapie refuses to refute those sources.
Does it matter? Not really. Hincapie's "trustworthiness" is due to his loyalty to Armstrong over the years. His credibility was never in question until now. The truth is out there, and he is And was no more credible than any of the other former teammates of Armstrong.
Wow, now that Hincapie is spilling the beans on Lance, its safe to say Lance is a cheat. And now we can confirm that Contador is even a worse cheat, and probably the rest of the pelton are just a bunch of cheats. This sport is so corrupt, there is no going back now. I always wondered how these "Climbers", never looked gassed after going miles and miles up 8%+ grades. I wonder if I messed with my blood oxygen, I could make it to the pros.
I just hope that if and when Lance is busted it doesn't ruin all of the good things he has done not just for cycling but in general.
If you're part of an ongoing investigation and talking to an active grand jury you should proabbly have a can of shut the F up and not be talking to the press.
Anonymous sources are **** these days and news organizations will say and do anything to make a buck. If I had a nickle for ever time a paper dropped the anonymous source BS these days I'd be able to quit working. If your source wants to be anonymous, I say F them and wait for the Grand Jury report. There's just far too much bull**** out there anymore.
I had a teacher give me some great advised 30 years ago. Don't beleive anything you hear or read and only buy about half of what you see and you'll be fine. The rest of it is bull****. You know what? 30 years and he was pretty damn right.
Just read between the lines of Hincapie's tweets.
Not a denial that he or Armstrong took PEDs.Quote:

Eerily similar to Mark McGwire saying "I'm not here to talk about the past."Quote:
As I've said in the past, I continue to be disappointed that people are talking about the past in cycling instead of the future.
That's a nice way of avoiding a comment, but if he never said what people are claiming he said, why wouldn't he deny it?Quote:

I don't see much of a reason to believe that he didn't actually admit to this.
does everyone agree that it will be a year or more before this goes to court? is there a place to discuss legal matters?
There is a huge difference between telling a white lie to a reporter which many have done for years and facing the prospect of going to prison by lying to a grand jury.
I think CBS has an insider so they had Hincapie's Grand jury testimony when they leaked the Tyler interview on Thursday.. Fully knowing that Lance would immediately give a rebuttal to anything Tyler had to say.. But what will Lance say about this, I think he says nothing..
Some years ago I had a strong interest in a story 60 minutes was developing and was sort of an "insider" on the story they were reporting. A friend who was in the same situation ultimately contacted the producer of the story (whom he had worked with a few years earlier), and we showed 60 minutes that their story was wrong, or at best, seriously incomplete and one-sided. I'll never forget what the producer said after we presented all this factual information:
"That's not the story we want to tell."
So, just saying...these news shows are only peripherally interested in the truth. It's money and ratings.
I want 60 minutes to be grilled by the GJ. They llie to them and they go to JAIL. Just sayin...............................
