Lance is Under HUge attacks.....DRUGGY

It saddens me that I hear that Lance is a druggy and the whole industry knew it.

Correct.

It is in profoundly in the interest of pro cycling (more than any other pro sport) to clean itself up for obvious reasons.

The Tubes song of 70s may best sum up the Postal/Disco teams: "white punks on dope."

Only clean to how much they can test for.

RunningPirate 05-21-11 06:46 PM

So then, aren't all the folks that *knew* Lance was using but didn't say anything considered accessories or obstructing justice or something?

You know I think the US Gorenment should spend millions investigating the 2002 Super bowl game. I am quite confident that the refs missed an offside call that affected the outcome of the game. I know that reciever was tryin to get an advantage so that he could catch the ball for a touchdown. You know the winnning team makes more than the losing team. I think we should have hearings and try to get the results overturned and the reciever for the volation and charged with a felony or grand theft. This is our top priority economy, world peace, healthcare energy......why waste time on that.

Prosecuting an a--hole of epic proportions like Armstrong is ok by me. What he has done to defraud the cancer community is despicable. Millions stolen from the government, from Nike, etc. Needs to b recovered when they lock him up in prison for a long, long time. I want him to come out of prison with nothing.

Just throwing this out there:

www.facts4lance.com

Note: I'm just a neutral party. I don't care what ever happens. It's unlikely there's ever be hard facts in the case which makes it impossible for someone to truly get an accurate opinion.

Professional cyclists using performance enhancing drugs? Say it ain't so!

False it is in your best interest to look clean and be all doped up. Deny you have a problem is in your best interest, if it is plausible. Look at American professional sports. Look at baseball in the steroid era, ratings were high and they were making money, and just saying there was not a problem. Cycling being aggressive to weed out cheaters, makes them look dirtier.

You are right it does make cycling look dirtier, but the drama around doping adds a lot of entertainment value to pro cycling that wouldn't exist just with the bike racing alone. I tune in to read the bike press partly to hear the race results and partly to hear who got caught doping. And even more interesting is hearing about some incredible performance on a 89% grade climb and then waiting for the doping results to see if that rider gets caught or not. For example like Contador at the Giro lately - of course he may well get suspended in short order by CAS for his steak problems at the TdeF last year.

(CBS News)
"60 Minutes" has learned that at least three of Lance Armstrong's former teammates - including one of his closest, George Hincapie - have told federal authorities they used banned substances and saw Armstrong use them as well.

The Scott Pelley team's investigation into Armstrong and the use of banned substances in pro cycling will be broadcast on "60 Minutes" this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

No doping in cycling and this forum would just die.
