Dauphiné Stage 1 Spoiler

1. Van Den Broeck 2. Joaquim Rodriguez (:06) 3. Evans (:07) 4. Vinokourov (:07) 5. Nicolas Roche (:07)

Vino leads on GC.

van den Broeck gave it everything from a couple of km out and pulled out a lead of about 15sec. Nice to see Roche (Irl) back in some kind of form this season.

Final climb (cat.2) to St. Pierre de Chartreuse was spectacular in bright sunshine.

I was watching online at Universal and then had to step away for the last 5kms and then came back just as he was trying to zip up his jersey to cross the line. Oh well...looking forward to the highlights on versus later.

... and then ... wait for it ... EDVALD BOASSAN HAGEN!! I abosolutely love that EBH was up there mixing it up in the mountains. That kid is something special. I mean I will be the first to admit that it was just a Cat 2 climb but he was freaking tied on time with Vinokourov for crying out loud. What I really like about EBH is that pretty soon he is going to win something big and I have know idea what it is going to be. Spring Classic? Tour stage? GT overall?! Just wish he didn't ride for Sky. I am trying to get past it, but they give me that NY Yankees feel (and now I read that they are interested in buying up P. Gilbert!!).
