I had Wiggo, Brajkovic, and Horner (a quick recovery to all of them). I don't think Dmitri Muravyev is going to carry me. Lanterne rouge here I come.

oops, back on the slide. 14th. With Levi so far back and Horner as messed up as he was at the end (I hope he is ok), I'm going to be hurting.

I'm also in the 'all my leaders are either in the hospital or out of contention' boat. Wiggo, Horner, and Levi killed me yesterday.

Does anyone have brajkovic, horner, levi, boonen, and wiggins? If so that would be the worst possible luck EVER.

Anyone who picked Evans deserves much credit. He is looking great!! In today's stage he just plain looked faster than AC and AS. I know we aren't in the Pyrennes or Alps just yet but still, he looks smooth. I really hope these guys all stay upright. It is going to be a great battle come next Thursday (?).

On another note the two riders I was most interested to see how they fared are both out. Wiggins supposedly was ready to rebound after a miserable 2010 and Horner after skipping the TdS claimed to be fresher than ever. Would have loved to see how they fared.

I moved up like 8 spots today because of having Voeckler. Anyone else have him?? I'm hoping he holds yellow and places well in the next week so I can get some points!!

Do! I just got passed by a clan of Voeckler-clad teams. Knocked me straight out of the top ten. I can only hope he doesn't hold the yellow for long. Though on a personal level I am a big fan.

Voeckler will fight hard to keep the jersey. No doubt about that. Too bad Horner crashed out. He seemed like a good value at 6 points. I was so upset about the whole Tony Martin thing, but now with JVDB out and Gesink looking hurt it might not be so bad after all. If Gilbert can win green I'll feel better about not picking Cav. Nothing will stop me from kicking myself for picking Ventoso over Rojas, though.

I only dropped one spot from 6 to 7, but Gilbert and Cav are carrying me right now. I need Cunego and Contador to step it up next weekend or I will be dropping a lot.

I tried to fit Voeckler on my team, but couldn't work out the economics. Love him, though--one can always count on him fighting to win a stage.

At this point Evans is my speed brake for my long slide into oblivion in the Fantasy standings .

At six bucks hes a great investment. He will make breaks and win stages. The yellow jersey today was an added bonus.

I wish they had a points per velobuck column and some sorting features on the site.

I did the math for my own team:
Leipheimer - 1.75
Andy Schleck - 10
Van Den Broeck - 13.19
Brajkovic - .83
Goss - 18.13
Voeckler - 33.33
Horner - 13.66
Cancellara - 7.88
Gilbert - 103.88

I'm in 14th spot right now. Between Wiggo (out), Gesink and Chavanel (pedaling wounded), I'm effectively down to a 6 man squad. Levi maybe places well in a few mountain stages, as does Gilbert, Cavendish gives me sprint points and little Tommy Voeckler stays near the front in defense of the yellow jersey. We'll see.

Rider / Cost......................Pts/buck
Bradley WIGGINS [14]..............9.00
Levi LEIPHEIMER [12]...............1.75
Robert GESINK [16]..................2.88
David MONCOUTIÉ [10]............0.00
Mark CAVENDISH [20]............21.95
Sylvain CHAVANEL [8]..............0.00
Thomas VOECKLER [6]............33.33
Jens VOIGT [6].......................6.17
Philippe GILBERT [8].............103.88

I got rid of little Tommy in the same final adjustment where I switched from Thor and Rojas to Petacchi and Tyler.

Go me! What was I on? Ugghhh.

I think Cancellara is in on some sort of French underground thing. Last year Chavenel, this year Voeckler hops into yellow on a stage when the big Suisse Cheese has his hand in on calming the chase. It's got to be some sort of conspiracy. Or maybe chivalry isn't dead amongst the great champions, at least not for massive pileups on the downhill (mountain top chain drops notwithstanding).

Either that or Voeckler inherits a bit of the luck o' the Irish with that new green Europcar jersey that he's now slathering in jaune. He's been having a heck of a season, I figured him for some breakaway points and maybe a stage win, but wow, good for him and, unfortunately, good for a couple of you other opportunists from whom I'm now slip sliding away like Vino off a mountain.

What happened with Tony Martin? Small spoiler alert here ............ but I was really dissappointed in his team for not allowing him to take a break from leadout duties in the run up to today's epic stage. I realized he is not a major GC contender but he is a phenomenal TT'er and he apparently has the climbing legs to win Paris Nice, I was gambling that they would give him a bit of rope to see what he could do in a grand tour. Apparently I was wrong in that. Seems overly Cav-centric to demand all 8 other riders ride for him. If he hadn't been grinding out the last two days as a sprint train workhorse I wonder if Tony can't limit his losses a bit more than he did today.

Cav is a proven winner and Tony Martin isn't (at the TDF). It's too bad for Martin, but that's the way it goes sometimes. In all honesty, HTC did what they had to do because as long as Cav is up there towards the end he'll usually finish the job. As for Martin, top 10 was a stretch for him. He's better suited for the 1-week stage races. That said, I didn't expect him to drop as early as he did.

It's looking like the Contador pick won't pay off for me. No regrets. I still think that was the right move to make. The guy was on a tear and it was hard to bet against him until he actually lost a GT. I figured a lot of guys wouldn't pick him simply because they don't like him.

Sitting in 12th, I've been able to hang in there even with Wiggo and Levi out of it. The only reason I'm where I am is because of Cav, Gilbert and Voeckler. I predict a plummeting in the standings for me in the next few days.

True. I also thought about it a bit more and I would have to say it seems like they decided they could afford to lose Vellits from leadout train but not BOTH Vellits and Martin. I also think they made the correct decision. Vellits seems like (crash not withstanding) was the stronger GC guy.

It's downright scary how far ahead kevin / scc99 is of the rest of the pack.

Almost as scary is the number of times I leave Thor on the bench over in the Versus/NBC game when he scores some points. At least we don't have to think about that over here.

Crazy race, my wife is giving up because she's pretty much lost everyone (I'm calling her AG1R now). But I'm still having fun wallowing in and out of the bottom of the top 10 trading places with my old nemesis L'Enfer. I'm hoping for a miracle in the Alps from Cunego and Dupont, and praying Petacchi doesn't stop riding completely.

Likewise, I am holding on to the coat tails of the top 10 hoping they will just soft pedal for bit so I can nestle my way in.

Voeckler is certainly representing a solid value but how about Jeremy Roy! 363 points/ 2 velobucks = 181.5 points per buck! Out of curiosity, can anyone top him in terms of points per velobuck? Phillipe Gilbert is also in the hundreds but still not close to Roy.
