think vino would love to win here again? on the eve on the alps, will frank schleck have a go to try and ruffle contador's feathers?
seems like a potentially dangerous stage for the gc contenders not having the legs to follow or not paying attention when the attack/break
goes...what the hell...chris horner for the breakaway win......................... ok. since horner & vino are out, gotta go french with the usual suspects:
chavanel, casar or moncoutie.

If we get the rain that's forecast the final descent from the Col de Manse will be trickey.

Prediction:

Basso loses time.

Evans takes yellow.

Basso probably won't get dropped on a climb like that. Neither will Voeckler. I see a break away. I really don't see a change for the gc guys unless one is feeling chippy and tries to go at the bottom of the Col de Manse. Try to crest and and stay away to the bottom. But it will be hard to do on a cat 2.

Yup, most likely gonna be a breakaway with all the GC guys watching each other up the climb. I fancy Gilbert to have a good crack at this one.

The next two day have Snachez written all over them. Wed that cat2 has 18% grades and both days with tricky descents. 10 to 15 seconds can be gained for the brave

This is one of those stages where Gilbert really needs to get in the break and try to get away in order to score some points in the green jersey competition.

Voeckler and Sanchez are the best descenders of the GC men, but if anyone falls I dont expect the rest to wait, so the likely scenario is that they will play it a little bit safe.

I was just wondering if Voeckler would try an attack near the summit and try beat the rest to the finish...Would the others play it safe not to crash while chasing? Do they risk giving up more time to Voeckler? That would be very interesting to watch.

He could get dropped on the descent, especially if it rains. Same for the Schlecks. I hope Voeckler, Sanchez, and Gilbert form a little descending supergroup to make this stage interesting.

^^ don't worry. i'm confident enough of the gc contenders will do
little to nothing resulting in you *and the rest of us* screaming at the
television in frustration. that'll make things interesting...with the loved ones
...and neighbors.

if the weather is as crappy as potentially forecast, it could be another crashfest. something tells me
we haven't seen our last gc contender eliminated by collision/crash just yet but may today.

This stage has Gilbert written all over it. I wonder if HTC will try to get Cav to intermediate sprint point or if Gilbert does try to escape if they will chase to protect the green jersey.

wish some of the other smaller named GCs weren't out from accidents, they might have been able to steal this tour with attacks :/

If you can't watch it for some reason, at least you have this:

https://gaps.letour.fr/us.php

The blog says the best GC stander in the break(Hesjedal) is 25:18 behind the leader.

Who said anything about the climb?

Mental block, if it rains, he will lose time.

Come on Thor! Hang on and give us some more excitement!

If Cavendish only rode like this on occasion instead of hanging onto team cars, maybe he would not be disliked so much.

Looks like Contador had steak for breakfast. I don't like him but for some reason I don't want Voeckler to win. Voeckler descends well though.

Contador attacks...both Schlecks have cracked. Evans is right on AC's wheel.

Great job, Garmin. Good for Vaughters. Four stage wins and time in the yellow jersey.

IF anything, this is going to liven up the Alps a great deal... THe other GC riders seemed to have judged Andy's ability to descend and capitalized on it.
