I think it looks like a good profile for someone to try to launch off the HC climb then and bomb the descent and try to get away.

Over 10 Km runout of basically flat after the decent, but with a bump or 2 in it. If the section between Aucun and Ayzac-Ost is technical enough perhaps Evans might try to steal some time, especially if there are come catchable non GC contenders off the front. Otherwise a stage for non Contenders who can climb well and decend well.

If one of the top 5 GC guys are weak there will be a test. I doubt anyone wins the tour tomorrow, but someone may lose it.

I doubt anyone will lose who didn't already lose on Stage 12. There's too much time after the summit for the GC guys to do anything (especially the Schlecks, who aren't good descenders). Stage 14 is tough, so they'll be saving energy. The break has a real good chance here.

Yeah, seems perfect for a breakaway success. Putting 20-60 seconds into a contender over the top only to have it eaten up on the down seems like the top guys will rest up for 14.

Eh, I dunno if it's a day off per se, it's 42k to the finish after the summit so it was pretty clear none of them were going to be able to get any time on anyone else, they're just marking each other and waiting for tomorrow.

I better start seeing some attacks in the mountains tomorrow. The first four Pyrenean climbs so far have been boring as hell.

Today's boring? Hushovd is the heaviest guy in the field and has 30lbs on Roy. Yet he took on the mountain by himself and might win the stage. Being from CO, surely you can appreciate watching a heavyweight(in cycling terms) beating a bunch of flyweights on a mountain stage. It just doesn't happen.

Thor, God of Thunder!!! That was amazing. Not just the whole big-guy-sprinter-wins-mountain-stage-in-breakaway, but the tactical side of not letting Moncoutie bog him down in working-together-but-not-REALLY-working-together games. Oops, used up my yearly quota of hypens...

It had to be distressing for Roy and Moncoutie see the world champ coming over the mountain with them.

Thor rode in the spirit of Merckx today, with no understanding of the term "achille's heel". He should feel free to rethink his abilities and role as a cyclist after today, and that's saying a lot for a guy currently wearing rainbow stripes. Even as a world champ, he outdid himself today.
