Wouldn't mind seeing Boasson Hagen win, but I suspect he is a team man to a fault. Cancellara is looking good as is Sagan.

I guess if it comes down to the sprinters, I'll go with Tyler Farrar to be in the mix. I 'd love to see him take out Cav in a sprint finish, especially here, where Cav is a favorite.
If the sprinters get held out, then it's Nibali for me...

I'm pulling for Sean Kelly to come out of retirement and pull it off again....but then again, it is St. Patty's day!

Cancellara is the strongest again, and 2nd again. Wheelsucked once more! Spartacus is the man.

yah, fabian has no chance in that situation, lose a bunch sprint or lose a three man sprint because no one is willing to pull for the last 8k... and fabian is still strong enough to hold to bunch off. smart for gerrans, but weak sauce in my book. but a monument is a monument no matter how you manage it. terrible crash for boonen.

It's a lose lose for Cancellara, but I honestly didn't think Gerrans could keep up with Nibali and Cancellara on the descent. With 1.5K to go it looked like Cancellara was going to shed them both. I'm impressed Gerrans was able to keep up with Cancellara.

I'm watching the Eurosport feed and they don't think it was Boonen who crashed. Hopefully the Colombian Quintero is OK.

Nibabli is a selfish jerk….probably trying to payback Sagan for taking the win at tirreno and almost costing him GC

how did liquigas play it wrong they put nibali in a position to win but didnt have the legs to finish. or should they have put sagan up front. to bad Sagan didnt come up to the 3 man break with nibali. Was last weeks racing too much for them.

I was watching a stream in Italian (which I don't speak), so I don't know what was going on exactly. But I believe the thought is that Liquigas could have reeled the break in to allow Sagan to contest a field sprint, but didn't in order to allow Nibali to try for the win, which he predictably came in 3rd out of 3 against stronger sprinters. But again, I don't know what the gap was at the bottom of the descent.

the gap looked so close coming off the poggio hairpins... but its not a time to hesitate even for a second, given that you've got fabian driving at 100% up front. i think liquigas just had daniel oss, along with sagan, but between them and the katusha guys riding for freire, they should have been able to catch fabian. its a shame boonen got held up in a crash on the descent, he had a team mate on hand to help chase. a shoot out between freire, boonen, sagan, goss, ballan wouldv'e been more exciting than gerrans coming around predictably for the win.
