And so you reposted it. The irony.

Perhaps all riders should give NBC their pee break schedule so the cameramen can time it properly to avoid such faux pas.

Its gotta be tough to film something moving at such a fast pace and strung out. Just the luck of the draw we get wangers instead of crashes...

At least they were not as blatant as CBS catching Novak taking a leak during the Charger - Bronco game.

I wish they would do like they do every other race and just follow the last 25 miles and the highlites of everything else. Hour, hour and a half is long enough. 4 hours is too much. I'm recording it so I can just FF to the end every day.

You're kidding, right? Otherwise, why do you even watch at all? I want to see every single minute of the race.

NBC doesn't control what is being shown, they are picking up the feed from French cameras. As for getting French cameras to stop focusing on riders peeing. . .good luck with that.

4 hours of watching bike riding on TV every day for 3 weeks? Who has time for that? No thanks. Nothing happens till about the last 20 miles of a race anyway.

Your right about the action at the end. I like to watch it all and listen to what they have to say. Ill keep the replay on in the background while I do stuff. Kinda like I used to do with the Padres before Time-warner dropped the ball. But the last 45 minutes, Im glued to the TV.

If you miss the beginning and middle, you miss a lot. It's hard to understand the ending in context without that. You also miss whose domestiques are looking particularly strong, who's ducking, etc. etc. etc.

It's fine if you don't have the time or the interest, but let's not pretend 'nothing happens'. It's not baseball.

I thought it was a pisser.

It's not NBC, they just rebroadcast the French TV feed. The French really don't think it's a big deal, because contrary to popular U.S. opinion, we are the idiots, not them.

All the real racing happens until the last 20 minutes, 90% of the time. I've been watching bicycle racing for 30 years pal. Most of the first 90% of the race is friggin white noise. Rare exception. If you want to watch 3 hours of the break getting reeled in every day while they have interviews about the new Trek road bike technology, that's your affair. I do the latter, but I'm a bigger idiot than most of you.

I've only just barely been alive for thirty years, but I still disagree. The last twenty minutes can't happen without the previous several hours. Is Cav alive at the end? If not, why? Was there a hill too hard for him? You find out much of a rider's condition based on why he is or is not in the running at the finish.

Couldn't you say that about most any sport? Who needs a 4-hour football game (3 hours of which are commercials and other breaks) when the winner is usually decided in the last quarter.

I like watching the whole thing. Little things happing all the time. Flat stages are a bit less exciting maybe. Lots of nice scenery too.

I don't mind watching the whole race. I just don't like how they cut away from the race to film the NBC dudes chatting. That's the part I fast forward through.

Have you thought about not starting the recording until the fourth hour so you're not fast forwarding through three hours you don't care about?

I just watch it online. I typically miss the first 60km but no commercials at all and I can just click on the last hour if I want. I don't typically fast forward any of it. I enjoy the whole ride.

In football, stuff is actually happening the entire time. Like real action. Big hits, amazing catches, great runs. Now, the one-day events are different. Those are pretty exciting the whole time, but a stage race is pretty boring until the last 20 miles. Just a lot of jockying around. IF that's your thing, fine. I'm just saying NBC would probably have better viewership if they cut it down to an hour and 90 minutes. 4 hours every day for three weeks is way too much. They didn't show the entire Tour of California, just the last 25 miles each day. That was easy to watch and keep up with the action.
