Terrible rider sneaks into the tour?

Maurice Flitcroft in the weeds.
He snuck into the British Open and shot a round of 122, 49 over par!.
His partners were furious waiting on him to finish every hole.
He came back again in various disguises.
Has any rider ever done that in TDF?

Not that I know of. But they would notice a new guy right away IMO.

Lennard Zinn did it at the Giro this year and wrote about it for VeloNews (not that Lennard is a terrible rider).

If I remember, he thought all the riders in the tour had passed so he started riding up one of the climbs and got caught in bunch of stragglers.

Imagine their embarassment had he beat them to the top . . . a fresh rider, but still an accomplishment :)
