Has the previous years winner ever sucked this bad

I was hoping Cuddles would get into a groove but now its just getting painful to watch as he can't keep up with his doms.

But, he is faster than all of the other doms and their leaders - and that is what counts!!! ...

I thnik with a little work I could find one who didn't make the top 10 (No work at all if we include those who dnf of course).

But for now how does 10th place 52 minutes and 56 seconds back sound?

The 1998 winner did not compete in 1999 becaseu the course did not suit him.

But in 1998 Pantani not only won both the TDf and Giro but also picked up the KOM in hte Giro and if I remember correctly barely missed it in the TDF.

Never finished the TDF after that and his best result inthe Giro was 14th. He had a couple of DNFs in both the Tour and Giro.
