Was a big fan but tis a shame that he was not as commited as some.

best wishes to der kaiser. may his post-racing life be less turbulent than his racing days.

He's happy and seems to be enjoying post-racing life quite a bit...good for him.

Imagine all the beers and good times that created that "ballooning" though. And for him to not have to train year-round to be able be as competitive as he was. I'd take the fun over minimal gains in the winter conditions.

Mods were on the OP pretty fast. But I guess few banned users have as much notoriety as he achieved. He earned not a small measure of fame for coining a phrase that will live on in BF lingo for a long time: guads.

That's a double-edged sword, though. Armstrong certainly had that commitment and Type A drive, and who would you rather be right now?

Not saying that Jan had an easy road, but it seems like all of that is behind him now and he can move on and enjoy life. Not sure we'll ever say the same of LA.

On that first photo, is that a camera strapped onto the bar?

When I look at this photo I feel pure, unadulterated envy. Riding through breathtaking (literally and figuratively) switchbacks on a beautiful day with some of your best pals--does it get any better than that?

Plus his wheels alone cost more than both my bikes put together...
