    Ryder Hesjadel kudos

    With all this negative vibe happening gives me good feeling of what one of our own North American riders has accomplished in the Giro. In what seems to be a clean ride, and a lot of hard work kudos and many thanks Ryder.. A great champion..

    No offense but why would you presume that he is clean after all the revelations of the past week alone? I have a hard time believing anyone is clean in this sport. Actually, in any sport. It seems very naive to make such a statement.

    Well if you look back at Ryder's career, there's actually a lot of evidence that he's clean. If you do the math on his power outputs during this year's Giro, there's more evidence there.

    No one but him knows for sure, of course, but I feel comfortable being a Ryder Hesjedal fan.

    There is, however, a slightly worrying paragraph in Barry's affidavit referencing a 'pro mountain biker' training partner. Hesjedal was a pro roadie by that time, but it was his first year and of course he was a mountain biker before then. They're both Canadian, both on the same team. It makes sense for them to train together. The name is blacked out, so I guess we'll see if it all comes out...and really this is very thin, and I have to think that his time on USPS would have been more successful had he been willing to 'partake'. He obviously has the physiology to be a GT rider, after all.

    All big name pro riders are dopers. They will never go clean because there's too much money involved. And I'm ok with that.

    I'm going to start cheating at work, there's too much money involved.
    I'll teach my kids how to cheat so that they're prepared.
    My daughter plays soccer in high school, what would be a good "program" for to get on so she's ready to compete in college ?

    There's hardly any money in pro cycling, and doping controls are getting better and will continue to do so.

    I know you're kidding, but it feels about that bad sometimes. I used to do research/teach at a major university and my assumptions about integrity were pretty well shattered by the time I retired (very early).

    <ignoring all the drug talk>
    It was great to see him go on the offensive, and Steve Cummings too. Made for an exciting final stage, even though he didn't get victory in either the stage or the race.

    Prepared for what? A political career?

    Read, google, the surveys taken on hs and college kids when asked if they'd cheat for a grade.
