    NBCSports HORRIBLE music

Is anyone else SICK of the HORRIBLE music they play leading into every commercial break and coming out of every commercial break?

I don't care for the music but the tone of Steve Slanger's voice will always let you know when to fast forward as the music and a commercial break is about to happen. I consider this the best feature of his commentary.

That lackluster effort with theme music reminds me just how unimportant I'm thought of as a US pro cycling fan. I'd probably drop my chain if they launched a new tune.

BTW, thirstyman nailed the Steve Slanger "effect" his voice has as an attention cue.

I actually like the music, its not terribly complex but few tv theme songs are. It could just be that I like the that I get to watch/record cycling on TV and therefor I associate good things with the music.
I'm gonna throw in my 2 cents. Not because I'm an expert but because I have a keyboard. -canam73

Really you are going to complain about the music? There are far worse things to complain about with the NBCSports coverage. The music isn't that bad really and they've been using it or a variation of it for years.

I prefer to wait a day or 2 and watch a Eurosport download, preferably with Harmon & Kelly, than watch NBC, even at the risk of catching a spoiler by mistake.

I actually have not noticed the NBC music but I will forever be traumatized by the damm John Tesch synthesizer music associated with 1980's wide world of sports coverage of TDF.

In schlangers defence, he does seem to have studied cycling more over the winter and is making some knowlegeable contributions to the commentary.

For Paris-Nice, did you notice who was conspicuiously NOT paired up with Paul Sherwin for commentary? I am beginning to wonder if Phil's commentary carreer has fallen victim to his own rabid support of LA?
