There have been many days when I haven't felt like riding, but there has never been a day when I was sorry I rode.
I look forward to a day when he tries this again and she turns round and slaps him hard. Public humiliation is what he needs.
History is the future
Slapping is always an option.
As far as "reforming" traditions goes: We could demand that boxing gives up it's strutting round card girls too.
Let's see how far you get with THAT.
Let the guy have some fun...
here are some viewing tips for viewing feeds available on steephill.tv: the first thing is to ignore ALL the popups and prompts telling you that you need to download some sort of viewer. if you notice, the feed is playing behind those popups and you just need to get rid of them. but if you click the X or "close" buttons those are just decoys to download malware or whatever they are. instead, just click the "full screen" button in the lower right hand corner, and the video feed will extend to the full screen and the popups will go away (until you exit full screen). also, I noticed that one of the feeds labeled Dutch was actually Eurosport English: http://sports-livez.com/sopcast/sop-3.php so I got to watch the whole race in my native tongue. who knows if that link will last, but sure worked well today! CANCELLARA 4EVAH!
Trek Domane 4.5 (commute/distance), Specialized Roubaix (climber), Xootr Swift (winter/travel), Trek Soho (around town)
I agree if she backhanded him it would be something he needed to learn about how to act professionally.
Think about it folks! That girl could well be more educated/accomplished than Sagan, or just a hardworking girl, but we'll never know. All because this crude guy decided to grab her ass in front of the whole world. I like Sagan, but this dubious move made me angry. The crassness of it, and also taking away from Spartacus glorious ride and win.
It was not Sagan's day, and he had no right to ruin it for Spartacus by insulting the podium girl in such a crass way.
great performance by Fabian on the men's race and Vos, winning it for the first time, on the women's race!!! wonder if fabian can pull a double at paris-roubaix...he has the form to do it, and sagan can serve as a pretty big decoy for the peloton...anyone know if Boonen is well enough to race?

No, Boonen is scratched for PR.
It's not okay to grab someone who doesn't want to be grabbed.
It's certainly worthwhile to wonder why the job exists in the first place though.
However, is it possible Sagan has a relationship with the woman? The riders aren't supposed to fraternize with the podium women, but it happens.
If she was Sagan's girlfriend, their could be some implied consent that could take the conduct from criminal to just boorish.
You could fall off a cliff and die.
You could get lost and die.
You could hit a tree and die.
OR YOU COULD STAY HOME AND FALL OFF THE COUCH AND DIE.
Sounds like the sponsor didn't see the humour either:
"I sincerely apologize to Maya for what I did on the podium yesterday after the race," said Sagan in English in the video posted on Facebook. "It was wrong of me, and I wasn't thinking when I was on the podium. I never should have done that. I'm so sorry and I hope that Maya and anyone else I have offended knows how how sorry I am."
Don't get so wound up. Men have been grabbing women's asses since the dawn of time. No amount of commentary or lawsuits will change that. FWIW, she applied for that job, interviewed for it, and accepted it. Nobody forced her into it, just like nobody is forced into porn. Can we go back to talking about bike racing again?
It seems that with streaming technology and smart TVs it should be pretty simple to set up some kind of buffet of services for a reasonable price. The Eurovision torrent was fine coverage (Sean Kelly is fun to listen to), but it was crappy quality video.
As for Sagan - I think he's suffering from spoiled, privledged, elite athlete syndrome. Hopefully this latest kerfluffle helps him mature a bit.
What I'm trying to say is, it's time for everyone to climb down from their politically correct high-horse and get back to talking about bikes. The guy is very young, it was done in fun, and he didn't mean anything by it. I think most guys did stupid crap like that in their early 20s. I know I did. Can't we just let it go and move on?
Oh, and...I don't know. Can you let it go? It doesn't seem so.
