He's 23 for crying out loud. Ever heard of Spring Break? It's quite possible he won't behave like a college kid when he's no longer the age of a college kid.
A more relevant topic of discussion is how he's been making the rest of the peloton look like a bunch of amateurs lately.

Like.

Pig. :notamused:

I used to like Sagan but this ass grabbing on the podium is plain wrong and stupid.

His team manager needs to bench him for a race or two and make sure Sagan gets his head straight.

Hi is kind of a dumb kid right now. Hopefully he will mature pretty quickly.

Quite honestly if my daughter ends up as a podium girl I will be thankful if an ass pinching is my biggest worry.

i do like him...but yes, he is still a dumb kid...he is also a superb talent, who will only get better with experience...i think he has learnt his lesson over this incident (i am happy he did before getting slapped with a lawsuit doing the same thing in the USA);

Bingo.

I wouldn't think it "cool" if my daughter relied upon her sexuality to make it ahead and then I cry because someone responds sexually to her sexual behavior.

So you really think that every model has no right to personal space?

You guys do know the difference between a podium girl/model and a stripper, right?

Clearly you think you do: podium "girls" and models have a right to "personal space," whereas strippers don't.

I understand that strippers are using their sexuality to get ahead. Sexuality and 'being pretty' are not the same thing, just like wearing a really quite modest dress is not the same as wearing lingerie or being naked.

Do you understand that your current argument defeats your prior one?

I understand that you think you won something.

Pointing out failure is hardly winning.

So what you're saying is: wearing a dress isn't the same as being naked.
Genius!

He is a bit too much of character or showman for me. Reminds me of Valentino Rossi from MotoGP, who I like to watch ride but I don't buy into the antics most of the time. I prefer the gracious winners who are a bit more humble.

Good on Sagan for being strong and a winner/contender but he is just another of a long line ahead and behind him.

Cat4Lifer 04-03-13 01:24 PM

good comparison to valetino...
i happen to like the way both celebrate
i remember years ago watching andrea peron crossing the line in first and celebrating exuberantly...

Celebrating a bicycle race win exuberantly and humiliating a girl in front of the whole world (who is doing an honest day's work) are not the same thing.

Grabbing/pinching a girl's arse in public is inexcusable, unless she is your lover, and even then, slightly inappropriate.

I'd say that's for her to decide and not a bunch eunuchs

I agree.

Cat4Lifer 04-03-13 02:44 PM

if she can excuse the "assualt" in less than a 140 characters I guess I can too

Ken Brown 04-03-13 02:48 PM

I liked him until I saw this photo. He should be disciplined and forced to take sensitivity training.

Can we please stop the name calling?

I do not have daughters, but I do have two sisters and I shudder to think of them being humiliated in public by an idiot, whose only redeeming quality is that he can ride fast on bicycles. I knew smart girls who worked as hostesses/models while attending college, and from what i've seen of Sagan's behaviour so far, I am not impressed.

Weren't you the same person defending LA on here until he publicly shut you up by admitting he had always been a doper?

bici_mania 04-03-13 02:55 PM

I am not a Sagan fan primarily because if he is winning the stage/race/jersey it means my favorites are loosing.

I don't care for the way he shows off but he is a kid. I speculate that coming from Eastern Europe and now racing at the highest level with great skill and success with all that comes with that, he world has expanded exponentially. A bit of bad behavior is a natural consequence and will pass in time. I think he is sill figuring out where the lines are.

On the other hand, I am quite happy the big scandal in cycling is an inappropriate butt squeeze rather than doping, though it is still early in the season.
