Liege-Bastogne-Liege

The eldest, and probably the hardest, of the classics. 260km, about a dozen horrible climbs, road surfaces ranging from excellent to crappy, just a brutal war of attrition.

Difficult to predict. Maybe a chance for Gilbert to finally impose himself in what has been a slightly disappointing classics season so far?

Some distinguished coverage from Eurosport so far, including a close-up of a Europcar rider with his **** in his hand peeing off the bike... . Reality TV.

Brilliant team performance from Garmin-Sharp, with Ryder Hesjedal softening up the opposition for Dan Martin to take advantage. Fine race.

Second race this spring where Martin has been set up by Hesjedal. Ryder will get a lot of help from Martin and others in his defense of the Giro.

Just been watching the highlights of LBL and it was a fantastic ride by Hesjedal. Great team tactics by Garmin once they had two riders together with about 10k to go. Martin timed his attack perfectly and deserved his win.

Both Hesjedal and Martin are obviously in top form with the win in Catalunya and Martin's 4th midweek in FW.

Looking forward to the Giro big time. Hesjedal a podium position definitely but I think Contador will be improved and maybe Wiggins also.
