Garmin Sharp at the Giro

The list of riders is now set and does not include either Dan Martin or Andrew Talensky.

Are they saving those two for the Tour de France? I had thought that at least Martin would be on the Giro roster, since Hesjedal supported him to two spring victories. I think he would have been better than Stetina or Vandeveld.

I imagine they might field Talansky to lead in California, Dan Martin will take a little break, and perhaps both will ride the Tour along with Ryder, some of the other veterans that are riding the Giro, and whoever else is going well at the time.

I know a bunch of their bikes were stolen earlier this year. That may have something to do with it.

I also saw something on Velonews that they bought their gruppo's outright (not a sponsored contract) and so were still running them. Perhaps these were the backups which the theft has caused them to use.
