So the stage 10

First proper mountain stage... Who is your pick for the win?

AG2R, maybe Pozzovivo

Fabulous stage today. Difficult to see Wiggins coming back from that, so a very good day for Nibali and Evans. But nice to see Sky actually racing for a change. Must be some thought now in the Sky camp about whether to get behind Uran now he's third on GC, but they'll probably wait for a couple of stages and see how it develops.

It was a great stage. I think. With ~7km to go, just as things were getting ready to explode, my bandwidth dropped over here in the Dark Continent and I was getting 5 seconds every 30. I'm hoping there's a decent clip posted soon at steephill for Eurosport last 5k or similar.

Steephill has the whole race. Watching it now (at work).

Garmin has destructed. They should have had either Talansky or Martin on the squad so they could switch to another rider when Hesjedal faded. Or they should have unleashed Danielson. Not sure that any of them could have won but they should have had somebody in the top ten.

What happened to Hesjedal?

He faded on the climbs, finished 20:53 behind Uran. Danielson stuck with him so he is also way down in the standings.

Love seeing Cadel getting better every day. Nibali hasn't shown any weaknesses. Wiggins has been performing well aside from the descending, but that's been not good enough. Interesting comment by Uran about Froome.

Hard to keep with the Giro live in the mornings and the ToC recorded at night.

Maybe I'm not the most astute fan but these guys don't seem very well managed to me from what little I've seen lately.

Garmin not well managed??/
Hate to see what some you naysayers might think about the numerous other teams that aren't "performing to expectations".

Plans are made in the season.
Sometimes they work out, but most of the time, you lose.

True, but I think it makes sense to not put all your eggs in one basket. Wiggins does not seem to be in top form in the mountains so Sky let Uran go ahead and I suspect he may become their GC contender unless Wiggins recovers. Sky has the depth to do that while other teams do not. Garmin has pretty good depth and I think they should have used it for the Giro. Neither Talansky nor Martin are in the Tour of California so I presume they are saving them for France, but I think they had a better chance to win the Giro than Tour de France. Of course hindsight is 20/20, but I did express surprise at the start of the Giro that neither Talansky nor Martin was in the race.

But Garmin did have Tommy D as a backup.
But as he dropped off with Ryder, either he didn't want the pressure, or made huge mistake staying with his leader.

Raimondas looked absolutely like his best today.
His motor is so underrated.

Well maybe my wanting a little more success for any American rider is making me critical. I haveen't been able to watch the Giro this year so I should probably wait to opine when I have seen the race first hand. I thought they failed to capitalize on Talansky's good showing at Paris Nice too, but I'll hold off on second guessing Vaughters until after the Tour. Nothing wrong with being prepared to shoot for a win if the opportunity comes up.
