Giro Stage 11: Tarvisio - Vajont, 182 km (Hilly)
Final km: http://images2.gazzettaobjects.it/st...013/ukm_11.jpg
The day starts easy with a long and gradual descent of some 60-70km.
The next 60km becomes a progressively more steep ascent of Sella Ciampigotto. That said, it should not be so difficult that it will split up the remaining GC contenders. Similarly, despite Wiggins poor recent performances, the descent should not be technical enough that it will split the bunch. Also, the weather forecast expects dry roads, so no issues there.
Instead, the real action will take place on the final climb. It isn't a true summit finish, but it won't take much of a gap for somebody to stay away. Should be a spectacular climax as the GC contenders try to mingle with the puncheurs. If Cadel is going to rob this Giro from Nibali, tomorrow is possibly the day to do it. Watch out for Betancur suddenly disappearing up the hill.
my prognosticating is horrible this year but i'll go out on another limb...some italian mountain goat on one of the continental teams for the win...
