He's done everything there is to do in Pro Cycling!

At least that is what het announcers said about Alberto during the first stage of the Daphne.

Really?

How many of the 5 monuments has he won?

Don't get me wrong. I think he is a great tour rider, on that end he may well end up with the best total results of all time, or at least make the top 3.

But tours are not everything.

Idiotic commentators, "pundits" without much knowledge and windbags
with a live mic come in different sports.

For some reason, American announcers can't seem to stick to the "you do color, I do play by play" mantra. A lot of the play by play guys who do U.S. broadcasts don't really know anything about cycling and can easily be seen doing another sport some other day. Europe uses the ex rider for color and traditional broadcaster mix too, but the play by play guys David Harmon or this year Declan Quigley on Eurosport really do make better teams.

Todd Gogulski is just cringe worthy at times.

I'm assuming this was the NBC Sports crew? It's Bob Roll and the other guy, Steve something? I actually think that guy is better than Phil Liggett, paired with Paul Sherwen. That Gogulski guy is the one who openly said that Quintana may be on dope after one of the early season stages races. He's a tool.

Oh, and to the point, that kind of hyperbole happens in every sport. Lebron James is the best ever, Roger Federer is the best ever, blah blah it's just blowhards trying to fill dead air.

So Todd Gogulski is the one who said that! I liked him when he was riding for Crest but I don't like him now if he said that without even any kind of evidence. I'm glad to see the Colombians coming back in an era where their advantages aren't nullified by EPO.

Colombianos are the top nation in the World Tour right now.
Ahead of 2nd place Italy.
Good for them!
High altitude was always a natural EPO

I'm just now reading in "Velo" magazine that it was Universal Sports Announcer Steve Schlanger that said that about Quintana and NOT Todd 'Go Go' Gogulski.
