Brian Cookson for UCI President

It looks like Pat McQuaid may be out soon.. Thank god.. My question is, does anyone know anything about Brian Cookson?

Not myself but here is a recent interview:

Be nice to see a little more cooperation between the UCI and WADA / USADA, imo.

In my opinion British Cycling is not a well-run organisation. Dealing with their staff gives one the impression of arrogance and being out of touch with the grass roots. It's not all about the velodrome and a hatful of Olympic Medals.

And it is a bit late for Cookson to become an advocate for women's cycling and a minimum wage. He has done nothing that I can see to promote women's cycling during his time as BC President. Plus, the increasing entanglement of BC with Sky procycling doesn't seem to me to be a sensible model for the long-term.

So I'm not impressed. We do need change at the UCI, though. If it's Cookson or McQuaid I'll take Cookson, but I'd rather we got someone from right outside the current cycling establishment.

Irish clubs vote to deny Pat McQuaid a nomination in UCI presidential election

He is still likely to be nominated by Swiss Cycling, despite a legal challenge.
