Poor man's? The bike is $12 grand.

I like the color, which is the leopard trek color, not really bianchi celeste. I dig the fact it is a solid color bike instead of the multi colored things of the past.

It's more of a light blue than celeste green.

It's very similar to Tiffany. Kinda hot for a Trek, IMO.

On TV, it looks like Celeste to me. I wish they would have chosen a more subdued color. What happened to good old red white and blue.

They will change it for 2014. Trek bought the team.
That color is hideous and it is too close to the signature color for Bianchi.

Even the commentators observed that it looked like celeste. For whatever that's worth.

For some reason the British seem to have a hard time distinguishing between green and blue.

For some reason, I find that to be a rather attractiver bike, and I have never beena huge fan of Trek's aesthetics.

Thanks, I just spent 20 minutes playing with the Project One customize your bike thing. Pretty amazing that one bike frame can range from just over $4,000 to over $12,000 depending on the components selected.

I like the look of it, both the bike and the paint but it does appear very close to Celeste in all the pictures I've seen. I wonder why they chose that color because from the comments here and on Facebook I know somebody had to have said something when the bike was being designed.

Leopard is a consulting firm located in Luxembourg, home country of the Schleck's. The jersey they now wear hints at the flag of Luxembourg, with that blue color being in their flag.

Example: https://www.leopardtrek.lu

Down in the middle of the page you'll see the U23 tt champ of Luxembourg in his national jersey. See the blue color.

Just in case people were interested...it's not a Bianchi look alike.

That same blue color was on the old jerseys when they were only sponsored by Leopard, before they merged with Radio Shack. There's an example on the same linked page.

The flag striping pattern is the same as the Netherlands, with the blue color being the biggest difference.

So that's where the blue came from.

If a lot of people perceive the color to be celeste...that perception is not going to be easily influenced by any explanation on anybody's part. The color is so synonymous with Bianchi and the white lettering did not help.

I really don't care. It is simply the reason why the color was selected. This picture is a bit better.

If you all want to think it looks like a celeste Bianchi, knock yourselves out.

Clearly they aren't the same color. These pictures really do show the difference.

Those do look different, but that "celeste" on the Bianchi is a lot bolder and more green than most "celeste" bianchis that I'm used to looking at. Of course the ones I'm used to looking at are steel from the 80's and 90's and maybe a bit sun faded, but they're definitely not the color of the one you posted.

Well... there is clearly only one solution. Treks need to clearly have the word "Trek" written on them, and Bianchis need to have "Bianchi" written on them. Maybe someone can even convince the riders to wear jerseys that have "Trek" or "Bianchi" written on them.

I don't know why nobody came up with that idea sooner.
